Hi everyone!

I figured I would start up a thread for those applying/planning to apply to the University of Alberta After Degree program for Fall 2017 admission.

My plan is to apply in January once I have started Medical Microbiology at MacEwan. I'm currently taking BIOL 235 (Anatomy and Physiology) through Athabasca University.

When is everyone else planning on sending in their application?

Good luck to everyone!!

I am still decision pending. Did you all get your acceptance notice through bear tracks or did you receive a letter?

I got my acceptance notice through an email. My Bear Tracks also updated to a green circle at the same time also

Hi! I just got accepted to the Camrose campus with a 3.59 on June 6th. I am wondering if any of you have tried to receive transfer credit for NURS 113? My degree was in Immunology, so I have a strong pathogen background and they still wouldn't let me exempt it.

I got a transfer credit for NURS 215 as i took 2 courses in pharmacology. It just sort of shower up but you should def talk to them about it!! I would .

I just got accepted today to the Camrose AD for Fall 2017! After MONTHS of waiting and only having been accepted to the U of L, I am stoked! Edmonton was my first choice but Camrose is fine! Any other Camrose peeps out there? I'd love to connect! :)

Hi Jocebam,

I've been looking for information about U of L and anyone who got in to their after degree program. Please would you mind telling me what your GPA was? Would you leaving it for Camrose?

I got into U of L with a 3.32. My GPA dropped a lot doing the pre reqs this year so I wasn't sure but I think it's certainly easier to get into U of L. I will 99% be choosing Camrose as it's close to Edmonton and my husband could keep his job!

Oh great! Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck.

I intend to begin the prerequisites in Winter 2018 against fall. I hope I get in, maybe I will also apply to U of A Camrose site just in case... Did you get your prerequisites through Athabasca?

I got mine through MacEwan! :)

I got into U of L after degree program. Their AGPA is calculated differently than U of A. My AGPA was around 3.35 but admission can fluctuate a lot from year to year because they just take the top 20 GPAs (someone from the nursing office told me that). I did my previous degree at U of L and I LOVED it. Amazing university in every way.

Hi guys, i am so glad to be here at last as i cant get much info or advice from University of Alberta.

I am a new permanent resident who graduated with a bachelor of medical laboratory Science in 2015 with a 3.88 cGPA on a 5.0 GPA scale.

Please how did you guys know what prerequisite courses to take? Did you apply to the university first or was there an advisory body on site at the university to determine that? Should i just do upgrading of all required courses? if YES, where please?

I am really confused about this and need guidance as i am just new in Edmonton and just realising that i have a short time to application deadline.

please guys i need your input and advices.

Thanks,

Deborah
