Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't found a forum for fall 2021 entry of the after degree program at UofA yet so I though I'd start one! I am a current UofA student and have applied at numerous other schools!

Hi! I received a conditional offer and I’m from BC too. I received my offer about a month after writing CASPer

Have you accepted yet? Or are you waiting on other places?

I have applied to other places and I am kinda waiting to hear back! But I’m also waiting to see if UofA releases the competitive AGPA to get in. I’m a little nervous on what it will be this year.
Do you know if they let applicants know what the AGPA is for the current application cycle!?

I’m hoping they wouldn’t extend a conditional offer if I wasn’t close. But I’m still anxious about it LOL

If you don't mind me asking, what is your top choice and how does UofA rank in your personal opinion to the other schools? I have also applied at other places!

I know ULeth does not let applicants know until the cycle is over, so I want to guess UofA uses the same protocol. I am also anxious that it is conditional, but I think if we maintain a GPA of at least 3.5-3.7 we should be fine? Because I have heard they even accept below competitive. I am not sure if this is correct, but I think because we are both finishing classes its conditional that we basically just still do well from now until we are done. So they wouldn't want us getting a significantly lower GPA for example, but if we maintain a good one I think we should both be good!

I applied to 4 schools, UofA, UBC, Dalhousie, and KPU. I think UofA and UBC are equally my top choices since they’re both amazing programs. UBC would just be a shorter move.
what programs did you apply to!? And what’s your top choice?

and that’s really helpful info! Thank you so much!! Super encouraging to hear.

That’s what the conditional basically meant for when I started my undergrad so it’s probably similar!

I was super worried about my chances of getting into any school so I applied to UofA, Lethbridge, Western, UofT, Queens and UBC (although I didn’t submit my supplemental LOL)! At this rate UofA is my top and I’ll probably accept for many reasons!

I don’t blame you, UBC’s supplemental was intense, I’m super nervous about mine.

I’m in the same boat, I was worried about my chances getting in so I applied to all the schools I had the pre-reqs for. I think I’ll be accepting UofA soon too. It’d be awesome if we were in the same cohort!

That would be awesome! I will let you know if/when I accept!

Thanks for replying! How long after submitting all your documents and writing your CASPer did you hear back?

I applied as soon as everything opened, I wrote my CASPer end of November, and I heard back in February. My CASPer took over a month to be approved in launchpad!
