Hey everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone else received acceptance into the University of Alberta after-degree nursing program. It would be great to share info. on what we know on the program, introduce yourself, etc. I also applied to York, but I'm still waiting to hear from them.
As for myself, I'm from Ottawa and I received conditional acceptance on Feb 10.

Hi there! Congratulations!!
I have not been accepted but good to know someone has heard something! Do you have any classes IP? I was wondering if they offer conditional acceptance if you don't have the A&P credits yet.
Thank you :) I'm currently taking classes (will be graduating this spring). I am not sure if they offer conditional acceptance to those without the pre-req's...I have already completed A&P. You should prob. call them about that.
If you also get accepted, keep me posted! It would be cool to know someone else in the program come Sept. Good luck!!
BUMP. It seems no one else on this board is planning to go to U of A for the AD program?
I would love to meet my potential future classmates. :)
Well I officially got my conditional acceptance today!!!
I am not 100000% sure I am going to go there (obviously as it's conditional... hehe) and I am waiting to hear from UBC but still really relieved and excited. Now just to get through anatomy and physiology... ahaha!
But yea where's everybody else at?

I was accepted to U of A as well! I'm currently finishing up a BA at MacEwan and will be finished in May. Really excited for the fall. I actually just finished enrolling in all of my fall 2014 and winter 2015 courses. Enrolment has only been open for a day and labs are already filling up. I have heard that the after degree is challenging but not terrible.
Congrats, everyone! Good to know some potential classmates in the program. :) I have also signed up for my classes today. I have heard that the AD program is not as science-based as one might think. For example, I heard the nursing theory courses are very philosophy-based. I've also heard mixed reviews on their CBL format for some of the courses. I've never been to Alberta, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Hi all!
I have an application in to U of A AD program. Just wondering for those who have been accepted how long did it take before you found out?
Hello,
I applied in January and found out in early February. I'm sure you'll hear from them soon enough :)
Has anyone sent in their final transcript to the U of A? Has your Beartracks status been updated? I called the admissions office and they seem quite slow in updating the status to 'final admission.' In fact, they said they haven't even received my transcript yet, even though I sent it through express mail (and it was delivered on Monday). I know the document deadline is June 15th, so I'm just a bit anxious about it all.
Thanks!
I sent my final transcripts almost two months ago and my application has been complete for weeks but my status still says decision pending on beartracks. I thought maybe they would wait until all applications are in before making final decisions (for those who don't qualify for early admissions)?
Thanks for the quick reply. U of A administration seems very slow then. I was already granted early admission, so I don't know why it would take so long to update my status? I'll wait until the end of this week and if my status still hasn't changed, I will have to hassle the admissions office again, lol.
