I don’t see many posts or threads about University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Capstone College of Nursing. They offer FNP or PMHNP or dual degree. I am applying for their FNP program Fall 2020. Anyone else also applying? Or anyone who has gone through their program, tell me about it. Thanks!
@Spruily31im sorry. It sucks I know. I genuinely don’t know what they’re looking for. I have 2 associate degrees, 2 bachelor’s and a 3.7 GPA and a specialty certification. ICU, psych/addictions, dialysis and hospice experience as well as nurse manager experience. It’s frustrating to say the least. Good luck on the other schools. I’m halfway through UNA’s FNP program. I’ve been happy with it. It may be worth checking out.
@Spruily31 I am so sorry to hear this! Good luck with the other programs! Do you mind telling me if they notified you via email, letter, or phone? Did you get any reasons from them as to why you were not accepted?
@Spruily31 I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get in. IDK what they’re looking for. I was actually halfway through the Acute NP Program at UAB when I took a LOA to switch to Psych (UAB) or Psych/FNP at (UA). I’m still waiting to hear back there too but I know their deadline is in October. Usually they’ll make decisions within a month of the deadline. What program did you apply to at UAB?
I haven't gotten anything. I have emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) multiple times with no response and that makes me nervous. I would think we should have heard something by now.
I applied to the PMHNP/FNP dual program, did any of you apply to that one as well?
Do y'all know if we are notified by email or hard copy mail?
@jrridgwayyou’ll get an email. That’s the program I also applied for. She was hit or miss as far as replying. Always got a response, sometimes took a week, sometimes an hour. Never got a clear answer to anything though. I was waitlisted in 2019 so I started another program. Wanted to transfer to Bama after taking a LOA. Never got clear reasons or responses to anything. Always seemed like a standard reply.

Did y’all hear back in an email or in a letter? Mine still says awaiting review. Starting to make me feel like I might have missed something or maybe my transcript is held up
