I don’t see many posts or threads about University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Capstone College of Nursing. They offer FNP or PMHNP or dual degree. I am applying for their FNP program Fall 2020. Anyone else also applying? Or anyone who has gone through their program, tell me about it. Thanks!

My application status hasn't changed yet. Maybe they're going in alphabetical order? My last name starts with "S" if that helps.

Got an email last night. Denied. I don’t know what they want. I have 2 associate degrees, 2 bachelors and a 3.8 GPA??‍♀️

@LEM oh no! Your GPA is great!  Do they not give a reason if they deny you? ?

No. I emailed and got a vague response about over 300 people applying, etc. I’m 18 hours into an FNP program at UNA. I’m just going to finish that and get a post masters psych cert. I was going to lose 2 classes anyway if I had been accepted (they only allow 12 hrs to be transferred in) . It’s just not worth putting any more time or effort into.

Good luck with everything. I want UA but I figured they had a bunch of applicants since it was taking so long to hear back. I applied at South Alabama as well.. so hopefully I get in one of the places.

@Holdenx3 I only applied to UA. If I don’t get in, I guess I will apply to other schools next year. I just really want UA. I’m getting doubtful though.

Same? and I don’t think they accept many across all 3 programs.

I have been in that program since 2019 but have sat out since the Summer of 2020 because I keep losing clinical spots. My preceptor cancelled on me right before classes started this fall so I had to drop again. I have to wait until the Summer of 2022 to try to get into clinicals again. I probably won't.  With covid and the amount of people competing for clinical spots its just too much.
