Hi my name is Maria, I'm currently in the process for applying to Unitek in Bakersfield. I'm simply posting to see if anyone else was in the same boat.

If I remember it correctly, it was pretty easy when I applied. I got in the program pretty fast because of my extra degrees I had (I had international BSN & DMD degree). It’s a long story but a week after I applied to them and got accepted, I found out California waived the concurrency issues from international nursing graduates. I applied to NCLEX directly and now, I’m working as an RN. I got accepted pretty fast though during that time. I wish everyone all the best!

How hard was the program for you? Think it’s possible to work while in it?

I believe since first year is just prerequisites, you can work. On clinicals, you can but it will be very tough with your rotations, homeworks and exams.

Thank you for your input! I’m not sure. We don’t have help with my 2 1/2 year old daughter once daycare is out, my hubby will also be doing his Bachelors for Teaching plus working. I guess I’ll be waiting.
