Union University Hendersonville ABSN Spring 2019 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

I received my conditional acceptance into the Spring 2019 cohort in Hendersonville. I have seen similar posts for past cohorts and want to see if anyone else has received their acceptance or put their application in yet?

Thank you, it's been pretty awful honestly. I didn't get to make it. Pretty bummed out. Did you get to go? How was it? Learn anything new? I hope y'all enjoyed it.

I did end up going and it was pretty good. Didn't learn too much more about the application process than I already knew going in but did learn about the awesome facilities(they had six simulation rooms with active dummy patients, and they had a cadaver that we were able to check out in the pathophysiology/biology lab). I learned that they accept 30-38 students per cohort and Dr. Davis tried to give a whole picture of what the work load will look like 5 days m-f some half day some full days and some Saturday clinicals. She explained that the clinicals take place in lots of different hospitals and that they can't guarantee what hospital you'll be in. Overall I really enjoyed the visit and really hope I get in.

That's awesome! I'm happy you got to go! Thank you for the information.

Is Dr Davis one of the instructors? I really hope I get in as well. 30-38 isn't very many. I will be praying we both get accepted.

Yes, she is an assistant professor that teaches adult health II. the program coordinator was also there her name is Cathy Wright. They seemed very nice. I hope we get in too but I think I am probably going to get rejected for spring since my gpa is just making the cut off. Ms. Wright said though that I could take some classes at portage learning that could raise my gpa in a faster time period 100 days. She also gave out a packet listing some help line and resources for financial aid. I'm sure if it's something you would like to have she could email you a copy her email address is [email protected]

I'll be praying for us too!!! I have scoured the other message boards on union and people were receiving acceptance emails all the way up until December. So I'm guessing some people chose other colleges and then they considered some other candidates. So I suppose it's just a waiting game at this point. Did you apply to any other schools?

Mjones138 were you in the front row on the left side of the room? I was in the front on the right. I wanted to come introduce myself but then we got split up on the tour:(. I was so impressed with the tour though and Dr. Davis. I'm praying that I get in too!! I got the email from UU saying they received my verified NURSCAS and will send a decision for acceptance after they review. **Biting nails**

Sxyshan Yes that was me! My application was verified yesterday and union also sent me the under review email. I was really impressed too I walked out of the building and was like i'd Be super lucky to go to school here. I hate the waiting part it's so frustrating. I wonder how long it'll be before they make their decisions. I was sad when they broke up to tour but oh well I still liked Ms. Wright she was pretty cool. I wish I would've been in your group though:(

That's good that everyone seems nice. I've spoken to Cathy before she does seem nice and very helpful. I was so confident when submitting my application. My GPA is a 3.5, but as time passes and knowing some have already been accepted I've become less confident. I'm actually taking APII through portage. I wish I had it complete. I feel not having it done in hindering me, but I don't want to rush it and mess up my GPA. What's meant to be will be. That's the only thing keeping me sane at this point because no I only applied to union because other schools don't accept portage science courses.

Honestly it sounds like you've got a great shot at getting in so don't be discouraged. You'll be conditionally accepted until you've finished the ap2 class.

I appreciate that. With it being rolling admissions I really thought that they would accept it like first come first serve as long as the minimum qualifications were met. I'm not sure now, but don't you lose hope either.

I am trying not to. I was accepted into another college's absn program but it's reputation is less than stellar and the drop out rates are extremely high. I would much rather be able to attend Union. I'm still waiting though. Its been almost 11-12 days since my application was verified.I'm sure I'll be waiting a few more weeks.

I emailed Miss Blanken and she told me that she could offer me a spot in Germantown which I accepted!!! So excited!!

That's so awesome congratulations!!!! Been praying for you! I accepted a seat as well @hendersonville. Yay for us!
