Union University ABSN 2019

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hello, just found out my husband and i will be moving to clarksville area due to his job in fort campbell. i've been looking all over for a nursing program in the area and found Union University ABSN program (i have a Bachelors already ) i see that their requirements is a 3.0 for last 60 credits a long with TEAS & ACT scores. does anyone know what the minimum score they accept or GPA?

i see that this is a 15month program, would you say this program is doable for a mom of 1 (3 yr old). i know it'll be atleast an Hour commute from clarksville if we get a house in that area.

I start at UU in Hendersonville January 28th. To the OP, I no longer live at Fort Campbell but live right outside of Nashville. I will have a 40-minute commute. @HFavored1- when I submitted my application through NCas I received my acceptance within 2 weeks. I submitted early though. People were still being added to my cohort in November/December. I took the TEAS. It did not determine if I would get in or not. They wanted it for research purposes. I am not sure what the requirement is now. Also, to the OP, when it came to GPA they only look at your last 60 hours of credits. Apply and see what happens.

Oh okay great! i was so worried about the TEAS but i will be taking it next week. do you mind sharing your last 60 GPA? i spoke to UU and they told me they will not start processing me in until my transcript has been verified by NursingCas. so NursingCas advised me to go ahead and submit my application, and then add my TEAS scores whenever i get it. i guess to expedite the process for the transcripts. i'll keep you all updated if i get accepted with my current GPA. thank you so much for responding.

I'm curious to know, who told you classes are from 8-5 mon-fri? I'm in the program at the Germantown location. I have 3 children and a husband so having children and being in the program is definitely ok.

I recently spoke with another Army wife who is in the program and she said for her first semester classes on certain days were 8-4 or 8-12. i hear the 2nd semester is the most challenging. how far are you in the program? and i'm so glad to hear there's another mom in the program, my family thinks I'm setting myself up for failure.

@Fav1892 I'm in the 3rd session. Yes second was busy! but this one is more intense than the last. It's only two classes but it feels like way more. It's not the easiest thing in the world with kids but i mean its not the end of the world the way people try to make it out to be. It depends on what kind of person you are. But, its definitely not something to do just because. You REALLY have to be ready and focused or it can end quickly.

@Fav1892 my GPA for my last GPA was 3.8. I have one B and an A-. However, looking at my NCAS application my overall GPA barely made the cut-off. It is a 3.07. I had some horrible grades when I first went to college. I was pregnant and the stress just got in the way. Anyway, I did not add my TEAS to the application. It wasn't required at the time. I had to send it in after I took it. We actually have a few from my cohort who are taking theirs today. So far, I think UU @ Hendersonville is going to be a great school. The professors seem super nice and very helpful. They want you to succeed. Please keep me posted on your application process. I wish you luck and maybe I'll see you in the fall.

@Iromkee wow!! 3.8 is soo competitive!! omg!! lol. not gonna lie, I'm a bit more nervous now. i had a terrible first 2 years of college and finally got it together towards the end as well. And thank you, I will definitely keep you updated if I'm accepted.

Don't be nervous. My story sounds a lot like yours. My first year in college was horrible. I was pregnant and life hit. I did some classes through APSU a few years later. When I decided to return to school 4 years ago, I was returning with a 1.07 GPA. I worked my butt off to get where I am at today. You can do it.

I'm in need of a bit of help. I got accepted into Union's germantown Accelerated BSN program fall 2019 and U of Memphis Fall traditional program. Im 40 with a husband and two kids however I'm currently not working but I'm unsure which program I would be successful in. Is the Accelerated program something that can be done or is Memphis a better option?

Any! Stay away from UU ! I have got so many issues with them, to this day I regret I applied there ...

Oh wow now I'm worried. What issues have you had?

I’m not sure what issues this person has had. Apparently they were not accepted to the graduate program he/she wanted. So, I don’t understand why applying would have been so detrimental to his/her life.

Hi! Can anyone in the program, specifically at Hendersonville, give any details about the program? (pros/cons)
