  1. I was not surprised about the questions about Christ, what I said my answers during interview can be interpreted either way, thats why such answers to questions like that cannot be judged or be a criteria for admission etc.
  2. Don’t! Admission is worst I ever experienced, the interview had questions about Christ, and your answers could be interpreted either way . I was not accepted with Nursing GPA 4.0, not sure what yours is , but they are too competitive, get ready for unpleasant experience!
  3. Any! Stay away from UU ! I have got so many issues with them, to this day I regret I applied there ...
  4. Thank you guys, for the nice words. It is not over yet, since I have not heard from the other school....
  5. I had no idea I had to go more over “ provider” more. I thought going over one role will show them “ poor understanding “ Manager role is to manage your patient consultations, collaborate with other specialists to manage comorbidities. Administrator role is participate if needed in appointment scheduling, rehab and other facilities placement etc .
  6. I asked for feedback since I was rejected. I could not believe I had "poor understanding of APRN roles". So, I named 4 roles: provider, educator(including to educate students, not only patients), manager and administrator. Where did I go wrong?
  7. Congrats to everyone who got accepted, unfortunately, it's not my case... However, I want to share my interview experience. My interview is scheduled for 9 am. 9.15 is no phone call. I looked up my emails, there is email on the same date, at 7.51 am telling me my interview got cancelled due to scheduling error? No explanation if its cancelled for good or can be rescheduled, but phone number is left to call. I did call, and person on the other side could not give me an answer and suggested me to call admission. 9.35 am I am calling admission and asking why my interview got cancelled etc. Her response" Really? Cancelled? I have no idea, but let me find out what the problem and I'll call you back". 10.10 am, and no return call, so I am driving to work. 10.47, and I am almost to my parking lot and I get a phone call" We are such and such, would like to interview you..." So, my interview was literally going on while I was PARKING! It is actually very sad that such an institution with big name and charging above the average tuition fees can not put their things together for simple task like phone interview. I wish good luck to everyone who got accepted and tell myself after my bizarre interview experience " may be ,its for good now!"))))
  8. thats what they told me. My interview was 18 minutes, because they were asking me extra questions for whatever reason. I feel 50/50, but we shall see...
  9. I would not worry about the time. I still think talking to a person whether 10 or 30 minutes will not make a difference. First impression is shaped within first minutes anyway, plus they already know a lot about you from your resume.Well, Good luck! How soon they said you will hear from them?
  10. Can you specify what general questions, please? I am sure they asked about your background, why this specialty, why Vanderbilt, but anything else you can recall? Any questions like "why do we have to pick you over other candidates?" or "tell me about your weaknesses /strengths" And yes, 13 minutes? way too fast!
  11. For those who are still waiting, I just got a phone call, interview invite for PMHNP program! So it is not over when it is over!
  12. I did not switch, both my degrees are foreign.I went to nursing school first, then to medical school right away. My foreign nursing diploma was reevaluated here in US , and after passing NCLEX I was granted RN(ASN).If you ask why I have not tried to get MD here, I have! But its a long story.Obviously, I graduated from medical school over 5 years ago, and this is not acceptable by the board here, I dont want to go back to medical school in US, I have decided to try nursing.....
  13. I have not worked as RN, because I got a license last April, there is no point to get RN job and quit few months later if accepted by the school( at least this is how I think, plus I already have a job , equal to RN salary anyway) . I hold MD degree from one of the country’s in Eastern Europe .
  14. Whoever thinks if you got RN behind your belt and it is easier to get in, you are WRONG! I have valid RN license, hold ASN and foreign doctorate degrees, have 2 publications( 1- neurology, 1- psych), have couple observeships( psych), poster presentations(psych).Nursing GPA -4.0, total-3.58. Guess what, NEVER heard from PMHNP program, and have feelings never will......
  15. Just wonder if any international grads applied to Vandy MSN. I am myself and feel that people like me got kicked out to the bottom of the list. But it is ok, whatever it takes, I can wait a bit longer....
