Union University ABSN 2019

Hello, just found out my husband and i will be moving to clarksville area due to his job in fort campbell. i've been looking all over for a nursing program in the area and found Union University ABSN program (i have a Bachelors already ) i see that their requirements is a 3.0 for last 60 credits a long with TEAS & ACT scores. does anyone know what the minimum score they accept or GPA?

i see that this is a 15month program, would you say this program is doable for a mom of 1 (3 yr old). i know it'll be atleast an Hour commute from clarksville if we get a house in that area.

Unless you have to get it done in 15 months, you'd probably be better off going to Austin Peay. It's only about half the cost per credit hour, and the main campus in in Clarksville. Just my 2 cents

Thanks for your reply. it would be lovely to attend Austin Peay but unfortunately i don't have a 3.0 for the GPA requirement. with Union University i was thinking i had a better chance since they only look at the last 60 credit hours which for me is a 3.6. are you from the area? is clarksville to hendersonville a bad commute?

also i considered Marian University but i believe they're wayyyy more expensive than UU.

I grew up about 30 minutes from Clarksville. I hate to sound negative, but Clarksville to Hendersonville is a pretty bad commute, especially during rush hour. If you just want an RN and don't care as much about the BSN you could also look into Hopkinsville Community Colleges nursing program.

Hello there welcome to the area,

I am on the same boat We moved here a couple of years ago. I am finishing up my prerequisites this semester. Yes the commute is far about an hour, maybe more depends on traffic but I never found it horrifying but then again I am from California. With their ABSN program I know it is M-TH/F 8 to 5pm from what I have heard so it truly depends on you. Also, it is true if you want only RN, Hopkinsville has a program so does NSCC but its only in their main campus in Nashville. My husband and I am moving around Exit 11/Pleasant View once I start. We were also thinking of moving down there to make it easier for me and he commutes to post. With APSU, I know all they require is 3.0gpa and a pretty descent teas score. They are point system and it is a 2.5 yr program. I was there this past semester. Hope this helps! Good luck and have a blessed week!

I definitely wish I had a 3.0 so I could apply, my overall is a 2.89 so I know I'm not close enough. From the schools I've looked at in the area it seems like UU would be the best (Only) option for me. I'm just scared of the commute and obviously the course load. And also, you're right about the classes being 8-5 mon-Friday.

How far is exit 11 from Campbell? We'll be looking for houses soon and have been advise by friends to stay close to Clarksville. Any recommendation on living areas? My daughter will be attending daycare on post as well.

I start the ABSN program at UU in January. I also used to live on Fort Campbell. I think an accelerated program is doable with kids. Just have to be determined. I wish you the best in your decision.

I'm curious to know, who told you classes are from 8-5 mon-fri? I'm in the program at the Germantown location. I have 3 children and a husband so having children and being in the program is definitely ok.

I recently applied to the Fall 2019 program at UU, can anyone tell me how long it took to get a decision letter? This Thursday will be two weeks since they emailed me stating my application was under review. When I originally talked to admissions they said decision are made usually right after the application is received.

@cmascolo Have you heard from the yet? I also plan to apply to UU in the coming weeks. Have you already taken the TEAS test?

Have you been checking your email? My general acceptance and nursing acceptance both came via email. Unless they specifically told you it's mailed
