Hi everyone!
With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?
Have you guys starting thinking about what you are gonna wear for the interview?
Nursh - I totally wish there was more feedback on here from previous interviewees! This seems like a very different interview style than the regular job-interview style, and I feel like there is less to prepare for as a result. What are you doing to prepare? Just going over questions/etc?
I am wearing a suit! mine is actually at home (hopefully it fits) but I will be going home for hopefully another interview before this one and if not that, spring break! The interview is during my spring break so hopefully I get a base tan before haha. and helloonursh, I totally understand what you mean about telling coworkers and getting the mixed feelings. My coworkers at my internship were happy and sad at the same time because they want me to stay lol
Were you nervous? Lol I would assume everyone is, but did you find it easy to calm down once they started talking to all the interviewees? I don't want to come off spastic! haha. And how are you liking the program so far?!
You are going to be totally fine! :) I am so ready for this interview!! Let's get this thing over with already, right?
I am getting so nervous for the interview! I haven't had much opportunity to volunteer for health related activities, I really hope that doesn't count against me. The time I was just in the Coast Guard I did volunteer for community based things, they just were not medically correlated and that worries me. I just am not even sure what to say or what to use as "experience". I just got my CNA license but I have not started work yet. I have plenty of things to talk about, where "why I want to be a nurse" is concerned... I am just getting inside my head with the experience part, especially because from what I can tell, a lot of people seem to have volunteered and done some amazing things!

A lot of my current classmates never had any experience. I think the key is where you want to be and can you handle the course work. Also fwiw, the nursing program is big on community involvement so any volunteer work in the community is good!

Oh I bet they would be sad to see you leave! And I know right, I've only interviewed for little jobs and my interest for those is just to have a paycheck. I know how genuine I am(we all are!) about becoming a nurse and specifically becoming a part of UNF's program, so I can't imagine that they wouldn't be able to see that! Yes, my mom lives in Orange Park, so if I do end up moving back I'll be living with her to save some money :)
