UNC Nurse grad residency 2015

I recently applied to the 2015 cohort nurse grad program at UNC. I was wondering if anyone out there applied there as well. If so have you received any invitation for a job interview?? Thanks!!

Hi I am new to all nurses. Im from Florida. I recently graduated with a BSN.I am applying to nurse residency first and then applying to local hospital for a job. I am applying to the UNC nurse residency for Summer 2015. I started working on my letter of introduction. Can any one share their experience with the application process ? Or if any one was accepted, any thoughts of the nurse residency program ?

I've also applied for the Summer 2015 new residency. The best thing I could give you for advice on the Letter of Introduction is to answer it if you were speaking to someone face to face. I've not yet heard anything, but I've done my entire senior year of clinicals at UNC on 3 Anderson and my instructor is also an employee there and that was her advice. I hope you and I both get an interview. Good luck!

Hello! my status has been under consideration since feb. 2nd....i think thats because i bugged the heck out of the nurse recruiter to make sure i had everything in lol any body else have any new info or stories theyve heard about this application process?

My status just changed to under consideration on the 15th. It says on the website that they received over 700 applications, so I'm guessing they will have to go through them all before doing any further status changes. I wonder how long that could take...? lol

So I just emailed the recruiter and they said their office has been closed due to bad weather so idk how long it's gonna be now lol

How true is it that UNC only wants students who have done a student nurse externship? I haven't done one but my work/volunteer/leadership experience are good and I poured my heart into my letter of introduction :/

Well I haven't heard anything like that but I'm from out a state so who knows what they do down there . I've heard a lot of their hospitals prefer their own students tho. But we all have put in a lot of work I'm sure they'll take notice too :)

The weather has been pretty bad in NC the past two weeks! We are currently getting more right now. I'm in the mountains of NC, not the Raliegh area, but everyone is getting several inches of snow!

Lol when you say several inches I had to laugh ...I'm from michigan and we got 8-10 a week ago and I still had to go to work :/ but I feel bad for y'all since your not used to it most of the year.

and yep, still under consideration :( goodness knows for how long if they can't make it into the office

Haha that's hilarious about the weather! And I know, it makes me nervous that they say they hire "through September" because I'm pretty impatient :)
