I recently applied to the 2015 cohort nurse grad program at UNC. I was wondering if anyone out there applied there as well. If so have you received any invitation for a job interview?? Thanks!!
When I clicked on the position description for the New Grad application, I noticed it says that they begin interviewing in March. I think that means that the "top" candidates will start hearing about interviews soon, or maybe they already have. They may also be behind due to the weather. But yes, it's probably going to take a while :/
How true is it that UNC only wants students who have done a student nurse externship? I haven't done one but my work/volunteer/leadership experience are good and I poured my heart into my letter of introduction :/
Maybe they prefer that but it certainly isn't required. I know students from Duke's ABSN program who have been hired on at UNC. These include graduates from last May and this past December.
Several students in my cohort including myself applied. I don't recall anyone mentioning they've been contacted for an interview yet ( I figured if they brought up other interviews they've had they would mention UNC too).
I have a friend who called because she still had not received an e-mail pertaining to whether or not they received all of her application materials. While she had them on the phone she asked when they will begin calling for interviews, and whoever she talked to was pretty vague about it. He told her that they have been very behind because of the weather, and that when the next steps begin to take place we should get an e-mail. That's all he would tell her!

So I know this probably won't make anyone feel better but looking back at all these statements for the application process and it seems like they take a long time
so I'm just hoping I know by graduation lol
