Hello, my name is Chris and applied for the Summer 2020 start. I figured to open a thread for all of us applicants. I live in Virginia and work as a registered nurse in the ICU at Virginia Hospital Center. Look forward to hearing from y’all.

Hi!
Before they changed to DNP, they accepted 24 students a cohort so I guess 18 students applies to this cohort. They've also increased the GPA requirements from a 3.0 to a 3.3 for the overall and science GPA. I'm not sure how many people apply each round either.
Congrats to everyone on their acceptance! I am applying for the Jan 10th deadline. With such amazing stats I am now super nervous ! My stats are as follow:
NP already with DNP, CCRN/PALS/ACLS/BLS, 5 years ICU experience at a teaching hospital (2014-2018) (I'm planning to start an ICU travel assignment 2/2020), nursing preceptor, served on various hospital committees, UG GPA 3.38 UG science 3.33, Graduate GPA 3.78.
I'm super nervous about my 1 year gap in bedside nursing, but hopefully with 5 years of ICU experience under my belt and starting a job back at the bedside in February, I am hoping that will play into my favor. I'm also nervous about my UG GPA but I am hoping my graduate GPA will make me more competitive.

Wow! Your stats are amazing. I am on the same boat with a bedside gap of 3 months. I am also starting an assignment this month.
My overall GPA sucks 3.6, 3.7 Science GPA, ACLS, PALS, BLS, CCRN, preceptor, code team, charge nurse and a committee member. I am retaking my GRE in a few days so fingers crossed.

You're stats are great! You definitely blow my GPAs out of the water. Good luck with the GRE! Based on the stats I've seen, you are very competitive!

Oh thank you! You're competitive as well!! and you have a DNP as well, that speaks volume about your academics. Have you applied elsewhere? Honestly I am ready to be done with this stressful admission process lol.

I will apply to Wake Forest when it opens February 1. I have also considered applying to UNCG my alma mater. In all honesty, I am putting my all into UNCC because I want to start this year. Waiting another year and a half to start is daunting especially since the programs are now 3 years. What about you?

Oh I understand about not wanting to wait another year. I also only applied to UNCC and I hope this will be it. If not, I will apply to all the schools in NC. ?

Well it sounds like we are in the same boat. I certainly hope we will be classmates come May 2020. Please keep me updated with interview offers and etc and I will do the same.
