Hello everyone! It's getting close to the August 10th dealine so I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying. Any other tarheel RN hopefuls out there?
Wow, that's impressive! Your academic background is phenomenal. Very evident that you're capable of working hard between that and competitive body building. Definitely takes a lot of discipline. With this being an accelerated program, I'm sure the committee is taking a very close look at you! Best of luck. We should hear back soon.

I'm getting very anxious as well! I am being a mail hawk! I live just outside of Raleigh so hopefully that'll speed up my notification time. I graduated from NC State in 2013 with a BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and minor in Genetics with Magna Cum Laude honors. My pre-requisite GPA is 4.0. I've worked mostly in molecular biology based hospital and academic research laboratories via different internships during my undergrad. I have professionally worked as a research assistant in an oncology laboratory and as a cytogenetic technologist in a medical testing laboratory. I have had to move around a lot for the past few years due to my husband's military career and am therefore lacking on the steady volunteer hours aspect. I very recently got back from living in Europe for the last year where any relative work and volunteer opportunities for Americans were slim to none. I've helped with a few youth sports programs and on the military base, I volunteered with the adult group fitness classes. I've recently completed a course to get my CCMA, phlebotomy and EKG tech certifications but have not finished my clinical hours yet. I ultimately want to work in some kind of clinical research based nursing, and depending on how the next 5 years go, I'm considering going back for a Master's as well. Kudos to the personal trainer, that's a unique background. I'm sure that'll work help you with the committee. I myself have a passion for the fitness life and have done fairly well in bodybuilding competitions during my downtime for the past year.
