Hello everyone! It's getting close to the August 10th dealine so I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying. Any other tarheel RN hopefuls out there?

Are you going to apply to the Hillman Scholar program if you get in? You should look into it if you want to be research based!

Apparently, undergrad admissions is responsible for updating the portal--not the SON. Thus, per the SON, we will receive the letter prior to the update on the portal. I do not understand why we have yet to receive the letter, though. SO ANXIOUS!

I think the Hillman comment was for me? I'm not sure if I want to commit the time needed for a PhD at this point in my life. Part of the reason I'm switching fields a little bit is to have options that still pay well which I enjoy when my husband's job forces us to move. If I put the time and money into a PhD I'd have to be positive I'd use it and not just have to revert to using my RN and not have any experience under my belt a few years after passing my exam. There is one SON researcher whose project I am interested in, and I have lots of questions. I may still apply, it's an amazing program from what I've read. First, hopefully we all can just find out if we got in. The suspense is maddening! I feel for the person in Cali, the portal might be updated before your letter gets there.
