UMSON Fall 2018

I'm starting this thread in hopes of meeting other hopefuls for the Fall 2018 BSN program at University of Maryland School of Nursing. I've submitted my application, just waiting on my Official Transcript from Towson before I submit the supplemental papers for my application. I've also applied to Towson University. Feel free to share your stats as we all ride out the wait together. Good luck to everyone!

Did you have to take your TEAS? If so, how much did you score?

Did you volunteer as well?

If someone from accepted doesn't attend the school, then the waitlisted person gets in. Don't lose hope!

I just checked and I got in! I'll post my stats in case that helps anyone now, or in the future:

I applied to the Traditional BSN with Shady Grove

Science GPA: 4.0- I applied with only Micro and AP1, I'm taking the other 2 now and over the summer

Prereq GPA: 3.9

Overall GPA: 2.7-3.0 -I'm not actually sure what my overall GPA is, I applied to this program after deciding to not pursue the final year of my accounting bachelors degree after getting a job in the field, and realizing I hated it. I did okay, but not great in this program and totally bombed my first semester about 4 years ago. I was worried about that, but hoped that they would see my growth and how much I turned my grades around.

TEAS: 91/99th percentile- I got a 96% on the math and reading and an 87/88% on the science and English

Work history: I have a few years experience being a pharmacy technician and then office manager of a family medical practice

I'm so excited to meet everyone else and hopefully connect with some other student mothers!

We can accept the offer even though we haven't received official acceptance letters yet?

Yes, but you have to put down the 400.00 deposit when you accept. I went ahead and did that and they said it would take about a week for my status to change and then I can get my UMB ID and do things like register for classes.

Congratulations on your acceptance. Thank you very much for your info, I actually just called them and they told me to go to the accepted students page, fill a form to accept the offer and make a deposit of 400 dollars. Too bad it is mandatory to pay this amount.

I did a Google search that was "UMSON accepted students" and it was like the first hit back. It gives you a list of 7 steps to take and then first one is to accept their offer so if you expand that option it will have a link for you to do that.

Congratulations to everyone! I also got accepted to Shady Grove. best luck to everyone my stats if you want to know

GPA: 3.8

TEAS: 80.1%

I was so shocked when checked my application didn't think I would get in

Guys, None of my friends got in. Anyone Who got in to Shady Grove wants to have a friend? Magbe? If so please inbox me. :))) It's a little bit scary for me to start without knowing anyone.

I'm not from this area so I don't know anyone going into the program, is there a Facebook group for accepted students we can connect on?
