UMSON CNL Spring 2017

Published

Hey everyone!

Just got confirmation that my application is complete and ready to roll for the UMD CNL Spring 2017 application term. Anyone else on here applying?

Thank you so much! They actually made the decision relatively fast. I interviewed yesterday and I checked to see if there were any changes to my status. I honestly didn't expect there to be any updates since my interviewer told me that they would get back with a decision within a few weeks... but I checked a couple hours ago and I got the best news I could ask for!!

Well that's really awesome, super happy for you and I'm jealous you didn't have to wait as long as I'm having to haha hopefully the rest of us hear something soon though!

@cnl_applicant thank you! I'm sure you'll hear back real soon too! Best wishes and good luck!

Hello Everyone! My status changed to Admit-Institution as well! So excited to meet everyone. And best of luck to everyone else waiting to hear back! Looking forward to more good news this coming week!

Congrats guys!!! Looking forward to meeting you all. Be sure to reach out to CNLbound17 to get in the FB group. We're all trying to sign up for the same SSIP session.

I am. Interview is in a week!

It's technically 21 months if you go full-time; however, it's 4 full semesters plus a full summer (you can split your summer courses into two summers if you start in the spring).

I thought I'd come check in on this forum - this was me not too long ago! Congrats to all who are accepted! I'm currently in the middle of the first semester of the CNL program. It is a lot of work, but I'm definitely enjoying it so far. Best of luck to all!

Hello everyone! Does anyone have any idea of how your semesters and classes would look if you started part time?

Hi Betibee3 - I'm not exactly sure how it looks for Spring, but those who are part time starting in the Fall are adding an extra summer and semester. Since Spring students already have two summers, you may be adding 2 extra semesters past the summers, but I'm not exactly sure. My impression is that they will work with you on what your scheduling needs are, making sure you complete classes that are required to get into clinicals on time. And just from what I know from some starting out part time - they're taking 503 (Health Assessment) and 505 (Fundamentals) in the first semester, and then will take 501 (Pathophysiology) and 507 (Intro to Nursing and CNL Role) their second semester (but not in a summer semester because they are not offered). I hope this is helpful!

Hiiii delate! Thank you for posting and glad your semester is going well.

Can you advise what books this semester are ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY vs what books you used way less often or barely at all? Basically, I'm trying to decide what books to buy vs what books to rent.

Also, have you started any clinicals yet? If so, have you and the rest of your cohort discussed your experiences? Do some sites appear to be better than others?
