Hey everyone!
Just got confirmation that my application is complete and ready to roll for the UMD CNL Spring 2017 application term. Anyone else on here applying?
I've been accepted (i.e., my status says "Admit-Institution")! Now I just have to get a satisfactory grade in the nutrition class I'm signed up for!
I've also applied to JHU's MSN entry program. Although I am inclined to go with UMSON, I was eligible to apply for JHUSON's full scholarship for former Baltimore City high school students. If the universe smiles upon me, and I land that scholarship, then I'd have to go to Hopkins. Either way, though...I'm going to nursing school. That's a happy thing for me.
Nope. I called on Monday (the deadline to accept) and was told it likely got in over weekend just wasn't processed. They had orientation this week for Fall so I was told to check back later (like next week). However, I sent a copy of my signed acceptance and deposit receipt by email after I called, just to make sure it got in there. The lady I spoke to didn't make it seem like it was a big deal.
Congrats pickles21
Hi everyone! I've been watching this thread for months but have been too scared to post anything but I just found out I got in for spring! I'd love to meet or make a Facebook page with everyone. And to those who didn't get in try again next year and don't loose hope. I got rejected from my first application to nursing school but still kept trying. Retook some prerequisites and tried again. I'm sending good vibes out to everyone! :)
I actually got a rejection letter not too long ago. It actually worked out well for me, as alot of soul searching and thinking has made me realize that my passion lies more in being a Physician rather than a nurse. For me, spending approximately 2/3rds what it would cost to go to medical school was another really big drawback to the program. To those who have applied and who were already accepted, I wish you the best of luck! Who knows, maybe one day our paths will cross again :)
I have a BS in Biology and Psychology and currently looking at the DO route as opposed to the MD route as I really like the more holistic, wholebody approach. I have not applied to Medical School, I plan on doing so next year. I have done ALOT of research on this though and know the logisitics of the application process as well as the amount of time overall it will take to finish medical school. It is definitely a bigger commitment as far as time goes if you are just satifised with being a Nurse and not an NP. If you are looking into the NP route like I was consider that many of these direct entry MSN programs are just getting you a generalist MSN with an RN, tac on an extra 2-4 years for NP education and the experience that will be required to get into the program. At the end of the day I am guessing 5-7 years to go from MSN direct entry to NP (thats the MSN/RN degree + work experience + the NP education). Medical school is 4 years + speciality. In my opinion (at least from my prospective) if you want to be a provider, these routes are similar in length for those of us who do not have a BSN. I am about to begin studying for the MCAT and getting back into volunteering if I can find the time to do so around my FT work schedule. If you have any questions feel free to PM me :)
They were pretty broad topics and seemed like it was mostly testing your ability to write cohesively and with good syntax, spelling, etc.
They seemed similar to any higher level standardized test essay portion. It's nothing you can really prepare for content-wise ahead of time, but the content probably isn't as important.

Has anyone been notified of their confirmation being processed? I sent mine but did not receive any notices.
