Hey Everyone,

I've followed the thread for awhile but have been fairly quiet. I had my interview on 2/13, thought it went OK. The writing sample was a little stressful but overall OK I guess.

This morning I received an email from the University of Maryland IT team asking me to create a UMID (student ID), not sure what that is about. Has anyone else gotten this? The email says the ID is used to access financial aid stuff, registration, etc... It is also says in bold letters "This is not an acceptance letter". Was a little confused what this was about.

Anyone else get this today?

I got one of those awhile back. It’s just an automatic thing that is created sometime after you apply. They make one for everyone. Unfortunately it doesn’t mean anything about if you got in or not.

Just got my acceptance email for Maryland!

Welcome!

I was just waitlisted to the Fall UMSON CNL program.   For those that were accepted (congratulations!) could you share your stats?  Did you have healthcare experience or did you have experience in healthcare related field? I have both core science and overall GPA at 3.5, but no healthcare experience.

Hey, I was accepted into the program. My pre-req/core science GPA was 4.0, my overall GPA was 3.5 (including my previous bachelors program) I didn't have any healthcare experience or experience in a related field either but my interview went really well. I actually started crying during the interview while I was explaining the reason why I wanted to attend. On my essay I explained how my experience outside of healthcare can be leveraged in a career in nursing. I also talked about how the CNL program specifically can aid me in achieving my goal in nursing. Due to life experiences, I already know what I want to specialize in nursing because it affects my life daily.

Hey everyone!

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted! You all will do great ?

I have been waitlisted and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the waitlist process.

Hey there! I was also waitlisted last week and I’m curious if anyone else has any insight. I’ve placed a deposit at another program as a backup in case I’m not offered a spot at UM.

Does anyone have an idea of when they will stop accepting decisions from admitted candidates? I’m assuming they’ll start letting us waitlisted people soon after that. ?

I don’t know this but based on the timing in this thread of those who got accepted (14 days prior) I am thinking they let the waiting list people know after they already received the confirmation and deposits from those who accepted, but maybe/hopefully I’m wrong.  I tried to see how many were accepted on the waitlist in past terms for historical data but wasn’t able to find this out .
Congratulations to getting into another program. I only applied to this one so now need to come up with more places to apply this Spring.

Thank you! You could always reapply here, right? I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for all us waitlisted hopefuls????

Is there a thread where current and/or past UMSON CNL students give feedback on the program?
