Umm, 16 hour shifts anyone??

I haven't worked in a hospital in 3 years, but I recenly applied for an RN position for in-patient psych at a great hospital. It would be two 16 hour shifts a week (3p-7a). Whaddya think?? I'm thinking I could handle two shifts a week... ??

We have a 63 year old RN who works 3p -7am on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon. Don't ask me how she does it but she does week in and week out - So I imagine sat & sun wont be that bad. Good luck.

Specializes in psych, medical, drug rehab.

Where are these hospitals located at? I would love to do that. I am working 8 hr shifts currently and I cannot stand it!

I am a new grad interested in a psych position. I'm thinking 2 16 hour shifts would be perfect for me since I am still going to be taking classes while working. Do you think this schedule is suitable for a new grad? I am having a hard time finding psych openings for new grads in general for here in southern california. If any of you are from around here, maybe you have some facilities in mind? TIA
