Hey everyone, is anyone in the process of applying or have already applied to UMDNJ's ABSN program for the summer of 2013? It would be great to hear what applicants thought about the application process. Thanks!

Hi !
Yes, I am also applying for the summer of 2013 but to the Stratford campus. The application wasn't as complicated as I heard. I'm just waiting for my school(s) to send my transcripts to NursingCas; who knows how long that will take.

Hey Beachlover2,
I am going to start applying for the summer 2013 cohort. Did you start applying yet? Are you having any problems with NursingCas? It would be great to hear some feedback. Thanks :)
Hey when I tried clicking on the link for UMDNJ, it was blacked out...I was wondering if there was a way around it or it was just because UMDNJ doesn't have a supplemental app? any response would be helpful. Thanks :)

NursingCAS wasn't too bad. Although manually typing all the classes you've taken maybe time consuming. I would definitely get on the ball with your application though because apparently nursingCAS can take up to six weeks to process our application before sending it to umdnj. Which campus are you applying to?
I applied but I'm still waiting for nursingCAS to recieve my transcript from my college.
Hey hopefullylucky,
I've actually applied but I'm waiting for NursingCAS to receive my transcripts and review them. I found it to be fairly easy, but like rosefromconcrete856 mentioned, adding in all of your undergrad courses is pretty time-consuming. And do you mean when you tried clicking on the last link 'designations' in the additional sections portion? I just searched up UMDNJ by typing in the campus I am applying to and then once it came up I checked off apply on the right side. UMDNJ requires everything to be submitted electronically so there isn't a supplemental app anymore.
Hope this helps!

I just started the appl process myself. It wasn't too bad aside from the aforementioned transcript database. I ordered transcripts from 4 colleges so hopefully it doesn't take forever. Apparentely you can submit the appl before the transcripts are in.
Does anyone know if you also have to wait for the rec. letters before submitting the appl. I would think so but am not sure.

You need to have your recommendation complete before submitting your application because it's a requirement for umdnj.. or so I was told by someone from the admissions department. Double check though, the may make exceptions.

I am also in the process of applying to this program! One of the tricky things I just noticed was that we need to submit proof of our BLS certification directly to the school. Luckily a hospital near me offers courses for it three times a week ($75 each! so pricey), so I quickly signed up for one next week. I finished all of my NursingCAS stuff and my transcripts have been verified by them already-- so I should be submitting my application soon!
Best of luck to everyone :)

Wow, that is a lot of money!
Did NursingCas send you a message when your transcripts were verified or did you just check your NursingCas application?

Good luck to all you who get accepted...I graduated in 2012. I heard all my professors have been replaced so I can't give you any advice. Just wishing you all luck.
