UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Stratford Summer 2010?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Anyone heard back from either the Newark or Stratford campus regarding their application for Summer 2010?

I'm doing my best to get a decision from the admission people ASAP so I don't have to reserve a seat for or TJ for the fall, which is 500$. Anyone have any idea how long it takes for them to respond?

Hey, I got into Stratford for Summer 2010! Very excited--But, I live about 70 miles away... anyone know any nice areas that aren't too far (about 50 min or less) from Stratford that I can move to? Also, is it possible to transfer campuses once you are in? Thanks guys, and congratulations to all of you!

8packmurse- I have no idea where to find other students but I thought this site helped find 4 of us already. You can try FB but I am not sure how that would work out- you never know, we might find a lot more that way. Where did you find out about our orientation and the date? Do you know if it's only 1 day or 2?

Congrats Missmariss!! Where do you live now? I live in Burlington County and it will take me about 40 mins to get to UMDNJ. I am assuming that 8packmurse lives around the Blackwood/Pine Hill area (my sister lives there and it's 5 mins from the campus).

I'm from Cherry Hill, by the way.

I actually found the class orientation stuff on the UMDNJ website under Nursing Student Resources. On the academic calendar it lists two days, April 13th and 14th for BSN Summer 10' students. Also, from that site they have our class schedule, PDA requirements, vaccinations/health screening, all stuff that we need to have or get done before the start of the term.

Bus to Health---Did you register for the TEAS yet?

Ok. Thanks. I just checked it out and thank God I did because I need to get some things done. I have not registered for the TEAS. Do we need to? I don't see any requirements listed for that.

I was taking a look at the schedule and it seems like there's class on Tues and Wed and probably clinicals on Mon, Thurs and Fri... I don't want to look at this yet because I have other things to take care of now :)

When I informed the recruiter of my acceptance, she told me that I should send out my matriculation fee with background check info ASAP, so I could set up a date to take the TEAS. I sent out my deposit with the background check info last Tuesday, but haven't heard anything yet.

Have you secured your matriculation fee and heard back from them yet?

A friend of mine is finishing the program in August, I believe the first quarter we have class two days a week and lab/clinical two days a week also. Based on his impression, the program is very doable, not nearly as frightening as most people make it, and essentially you get out of it what you put in.

Hello everyone,

I was also accepted to Stratford for this summer. I am very excited but nervous as i know it is not going to be easy at all. I live near stratford it you guys are planning a meet and greet if not I will definetly see you at orientation. I was told it may take a few weeks before you get your teas letter after you submit the deposit. I will be mailing mine out this week. Congrats!

Hey again,

Just fyi, I got the accepted students packet today after putting down my deposit last week. Its got pretty much everything you need to know and do leading up the orientation in April, even has arithmetic and conversion problems to do. Anyways, good look with everything leading up to the orientation, see ya'll then.

I just sent my deposit yesterday. I went to the doctor's office today and got stuck with too many needles :( can't wait to get my package.

I am sure the program is intense but not that crazy.2 days class and 2 days clinical sound pretty good. And I think it's 8:30 to 4 or 4:30. We'll see. As you said, you get what you put in. I think we will all do fine. Maybe we can coordinate a meet and greet a week before orientation (if possible). We might find more people.

Good luck on these last couple of months (free months).

Hi,

What does the TEAS test consist of?

Hi,

It consists of basic math, reading, science from what I hear its not that difficult. I bought the study guiide at ATI.

Hey everyone,

For those accepted, how are you making out in conquering the list of to dos before the start of program?

I have my TEAS exam this weds and the following week my BLS training. I still have to get my immunizations, buy the medical terminology book and learn it, along with figure out all the financial stuff (10k for first quarter ).
