Hi, You shouldnt have to wait to long as thye review your app shortly after you take the teas. How did you do on the teas? I hope you get in and keep us posted as I know of people who are still waiting to take the teas. I took my teas elsewhere and just submitted it with my app and it took about 2 weeks to get a response. Hang in there you should find out soon. KC

Hi, You have to do what you are comfortable with more and more everyday I feel gwynedd is the place for me. We all have our reasons for leaning one way or the other towards a program. I wanted harcum really bad at one point but after reviewing nclex rates, and doing 2 evenings a week plus weekends I said what the hell I'd rather do 2 years just weekends no traffic on weekends plus no fighting traffic 2 eves a week PLUS great nclex rate and about 6K cheaper. Again one year is attractive but at what price?? I am doing an RN to MSN bridge and will then pursue my DNP I plan to go all the way but foundation is key and I dont want to have a rocky start. Everyone I mean with no exaggeration that has gone to gwynedd has had nothing but good things to say. I truly cant say that about harcum, I really cant. Hi, It consists of basic math, reading, science from what I hear its not that difficult. I bought the study guiide at ATI.

I havent when I spoke to FA office they told me as a second degree student we dont qualify for grants just straight loans.

Hi Decided on gwynedd, I just didnt like what I read and heard about Harcum. Plus its too far from my house. Its alot more money as well I think about 6K.. I would rather have weekends only summers off a school with a better nclex pass rate. One year is attractive but at what price. I even spoke to people who left harcums program. Hi, Personally I had the same issue and right now I would go with gwynedd. I went to the school last week it seems like a nice area its only the weekend and clinicals are 7 to 1 cant beat that. I will probably end up at gwynedd get my asn and bridge to msn. I think thats the better choice for me instead of the accelerated route. Did you apply to gwynedd yet? and yes i have spoken to a lady who dropped out of stars and she said she wish she would have listened to others who tried to pursuade her not to go because of such poor nclex results. Plus its 2 nights a week plus weekend full days. I'd rather take my time have the week to my self to study and do this on weekend with summers off. Let me know if you decide to go or apply to gwynedd.

Hello everyone, I was also accepted to Stratford for this summer. I am very excited but nervous as i know it is not going to be easy at all. I live near stratford it you guys are planning a meet and greet if not I will definetly see you at orientation. I was told it may take a few weeks before you get your teas letter after you submit the deposit. I will be mailing mine out this week. Congrats!

You are same as me in regards to not sending in deposit yet I also applied last september. I have heard horror stories to. Did you consider accelerated bsn programs? Like Drexel or UMDNJ? I am also accepted to UMDNJ its a 14 mo accelerated bsn program. My only gripe with GMC is that the amount of time it takes to get your asn degree (2 years) you can do an accelerated program. Plus you still have to go back for BSN eventually if you want to progress. I hear some hospitals arent even hiring asn nurses a girl from gmc said that. She said she is in a nursing home right now to get experience then will try to apply to hospitals again. I am so torn but have to decide soon deposits are coming due. Have you been accepted elsewhere?

Hi, Accepted to program havent started yet but I have spoke to people in the program and they say its doable but intense. Why dont you do an accelerated bsn program? I was also accepted to UMDNJ in NJ so I think I may look into that route its accelerated bsn done in 14 months. But you cant have a full time job with it.

Hi, I applied to Harcum but after careful consideration decided to accept at Gwynedd. It was something about Gwynedd I liked besides the simple location. The communication was key and there seemed to be so many happy students. I was also attracted to the one year but again the NCLEX speaks for itself and check out the class sizes as well. But do your research on here and you will see a difference of opinions. I also decided I will just do weekends and leave my weekday nights for studying instead of being in school 2 evenings during the week as well as weekend. Good luck!

Hi, I am also accepted to the fall 2010 class and am very excited to start:yeah:. I actually spoke to a student currently in the program its her second semester and she said the first semester is hard but the program is doable. She did say they lost five people because it was alot more than what they thought. She worked full time and said the program was definitely doable. I am looking forward to meeting you guys. Did you send in your seat deposit yet? How many students are they accepting? When did you apply? I applied last August the program was full so I got into this class. Hello All, I was accepted to Gwynedd Mercy for fall 2010, but since then has discoverd Harcums stars 1 year accelerated program. I havent heard such good things about Harcum and I am not sure if thats a good or bad thing, their nclex pass rates are not favorable. Gwynedd has good pass rates and all comments have been positive. The one year program is what is really attracting me to Harcum especially since I want to go on to earn my MSN, should I just take the longer program with the better pass rate and comments? Doing so will put me behind a bit but its worth it right? I am not accepted to Harcum yet I was just contacted to take the teas test. My family just tells me to go where I want and dont be a statistice to do what I got to do since I am a great student that already has earned a BA degree. On the other hand none of my family knows what its like to go to nursing school:) Thanks all and look forward to some advice Bree
