UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Stratford Summer 2010?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Anyone heard back from either the Newark or Stratford campus regarding their application for Summer 2010?

I'm doing my best to get a decision from the admission people ASAP so I don't have to reserve a seat for or TJ for the fall, which is 500$. Anyone have any idea how long it takes for them to respond?

Congrats to everyone who's gotten in so far!

Any advice on how to get in contact with the admissions office? I've already left two voice messages in the last two weeks and emailed admissions and someone from the Stratford campus to check on my application status. I sent in my application in early January and had my current professor send in a midterm grade report a few weeks ago. Grrrrr! I just want to know if I'm in or not!

I can certainly understand your frustration. Why not email Cheri, our new Stratford campus nursing student recruiter? I'm sure she would be happy to assist you. I don't want to post her email here (afraid of spam), but you can find her information at the bottom of this page. http://sn.umdnj.edu/prospective/admissions.htm

Good luck,

8packmurse-

I was on vacation and got back yesterday. My packet came on Wednesday and there is A LOT TO DO (OMG). I have scheduled my TEAS exam for April 8th. How do you think you did on it (or do you find out right away)?

I am about to order my study guide. Well as for our checklist, I have my immunizations done and am scheduled to get my 2nd TB shot next week.

I have so much to study for- TEAS, Medical Terminolgy and I have a test in one my classes the day of the orientation. Sooo much to do- It's crunch time!!!

Shnerpi-

I called the Newark office. However, I haven't heard back from them. I had a few questions but I ended up getting them answered when I called the Stratford office. Good luck with that.

Thanks for the replies. I did finally get ahold of Newark admissions. Turns out that despite my online app saying it was submitted since January, it never actually went through =( They had everything else, but I had to fax in a new paper application. Too bad it's now two months later. I'm crossing my fingers that all the spots aren't filled yet.

OHH NOO!!! I went to an info session and they said that it was best to send it an application instead of online. I hope they still have seats left. Does that mean that you have to send everything to them again?

Hey Bus to Health,

Since I was the only person who registered for the test date on the 17th I had to reschedule to April the 8th, so I look forward to meeting you then.

From my understanding we do get our scores the day of taking the actual test. I wouldn't stress about the test, were a smart bunch and I'm sure we'll all do well.

Do you know if we have to pass all sections of the TEAS test, and what would happen if you don't? Any info on this test is very much appreciated.

Bus to Health: I don't remember them saying that at the info session I went to, but oh well. Too late now. And no, thank goodness I don't have to send everything again. The woman I spoke with was kind enough to get everything I'd sent together and go over it while we were on the phone. Everything but the midterm grade report was there, so she was able to send it through to be reviewed.

That's great news. If they are reviewing it, I think you have a really good chance of getting in. I need to send them my progress report but I already got accepted. I am waiting for one more professor to give me my report then I can send them both out.

8packmurse: I know we'l do well. Can't wait to finish all this preliminary things. Did you do your financial aid yet? I'm going to work on that today. :) meet you April 8th

Bus to Health--

I actually filled out my FAFSA recently to find the unfortunate news that I am maxed out in financial aid because of my undergrad degree. From the looks of it all of my aid will have to come from private lenders and I'm lucky enough to have my parents as co-signers. It'll be a tight 15 months, but well worth the investment.

By the way, in the admissions packet it says bring a thesaurus for the essay, any idea whats that all about?

got my acceptance letter a couple weeks ago for the summer 2010 class at stratford! excited to meet everyone!

That's awesome. Congrats. See you soon.
