UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Program

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Hi everyone! Is there anyone who can provide information on the accelerated BSN program at UMDNJ? I would like to know how durable is the program- the good, the bad and the ugly. What GPA is required for admission and how soon does one have to apply? Thanks- any info would be appreciated:chuckle

Does anyone know where the TEAS exam will be held tomorrow? I have no address, no building or room number in any of the information that they have given me.

65 Bergen St (stanley bergen bldg).

I think it was the 5th floor? I can't find the sheet where I had it written down. You can probably ask the person at the security desk. If you do not have a parking pass yet, make sure you give yourself time to find a spot on the street.

Specializes in Critical Care, Postpartum.

If any one at Newark needs a stethoscope, I have an extra one for sale. It's a Littmann Classic II S.E. new (color is orange) and also selling Informatics book. Just let me know.

Good luck on testing. Stop by the Student Lounge when you have a chance to see the board for any thing like apartments for rent/books/etc. Some of you may be spending a lot of time in there when your semester begins.

Hi forum members! Major congratulations to those accepted into the program and finishing up the recent term. I received my acceptance letter for Summer 2011 and look forward to meeting everyone during orientation.

Has anyone received any information regarding the clinical sites? Are we free to choose the sites or is it assigned for first term students? I am asking because I don't have a car at the moment and was looking to commute by train from Hoboken to Newark. I am not sure how feasible this is if we need to travel back and forth between classes and clinicals. I would appreciate your suggestions.

Congratulations, jypark

I don't believe we get to choose our own clinicals as far as I've heard.

Join the facebook group to chat with more Summer 2011 Newark students.

See you next month.

You cannot chose your own clinical site but they do have an accommodation form that you can fill out requesting a specific clinical site that is closer to you from whichever of the 3 hospitals they will be at for that semester (and judging from a few friends that have had to be accommodated for travel purposes, they have honored the requests). Right now we're at UH in newark, RWJ, and Raritan Bay. Clinicals aren't the same day as classes so its not too bad.

Thanks for sharing the info Dee and Philadelphialove. See you over at the facebook page. My name is Jessica by the way.

No problem :)

I am heading into level II, but thank you!

Good luck with everything and don't hesitate to ask any other questions!

If an applicant was previously in a four year nursing program but failed the program the end of junior year and switched majors, do you think that will decrease the chances of getting accepted into the UMDNJ accelerated program in Stratford? Now I won't be graduating until December of 2012 with the new major.Any advice to prepare me for when I apply at UMDNJ in the Spring of Summer of 2013. Also, does anyone know what type of Financial aid is available for those Persuing a second degree.

I have classmates who were in nursing programs for one reason or another before. I don't know if they did anything different to get in but I know they got exempt from one or two classes. As far as financial aid, the only thing available for second degree students are loans or scholarship if you're lucky.

You'll be fine! I have a classmate who failed as well at another school before coming to Umdnj. Also, you can get loans maybe some scholarships, good luck to you!
