UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Program

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Hi everyone! Is there anyone who can provide information on the accelerated BSN program at UMDNJ? I would like to know how durable is the program- the good, the bad and the ugly. What GPA is required for admission and how soon does one have to apply? Thanks- any info would be appreciated:chuckle

as long as all your other transcripts are in, and the progress reports of any outstanding prerequisites are all in by the deadline, it shouldn't matter.

dear prospective applicants,

please note important changes regarding the bsn program at umdnj

effective march 2011 for applicants to the fall 2011 term, all of your courses must be completed prior to submitting your application. this means progress reports will no longer be accepted and your application will not be reviewed until all required documents, including proof of your completed pre-reqs are submitted.

applications for the fall term will be available beginning march 1st and the deadline is may 20th.

please view the website for details on the new application procedures and deadlines: http://sn.umdnj.edu/academics/accelbsn/faq-absn.htm

these changes are due to the fact we are now accepting applications online only, through the new nursing centralized application system (n-cas). this system will allow you to create your own account and check the status of your application and related documents.

additional updates:

  • accelerated bsn program, stratford campus
seats are still open for summer (may 2011) admission on the stratford campus. the application deadline has been extended until march 15, 2011.

  • part time bsn program, newark campus

seats are still open for summer (may 2011) admission to the part time program. the application deadline has been extended until march 15, 2011. this new program is just starting up and is currently offered only on the newark campus.

please contact a nursing student recruiter on the newark or stratford campus, or or our enrollment services offices if you have questions regarding these changes.

good luck!

Did anyone apply for the part-time accelerated program? anybody currently enrolled in the part-time accelerated program? I would be interested in your experience thus far in the program

Hello Changetonursing:

In the meantime, why not join our Alumni group on Facebook and post any questions there.>> http://www.facebook.com/UMDNJ.Nursing#!/group.php?gid=181446948400

Can anyone in the program now give me an idea of what the schedule will be like?

Shoot me a private message and I'd love to give you some info on what the classes are like/schedules.

The schedule you are seeing on the website under current students is NOT correct!

Hello PhiladelphiaLove,

Thanks for your helpfulness to your peers. Would you please send me a private message, or email me at (mcfarlld -dot- umdnj -dot- edu) indicating what types of errors you see online. That way we can investigate and address your concerns about the accuracy of info online.

I appreciate your help with this.

Hi Lynn, I sent you a message right through here. Let me know if you got it. If not, I'll resent it to your UMDNJ account :)

Hey Lynn,

Im sending my application for the part time bsn program ( just waiting for one last transcript to be received ) however, i was hoping to to apply for the fall a.bsn program as well. Would i have to apply twice then? i wont be done with my pre-req until april ( im taking my last one this sem ) ... is it even possible to apply for both accelerated and part time program?

thanks! =)

I checked with our nursing student recruiter in Newark and here is her answer. Good luck with your application and and feel free to contact Mae directly with future questions about the program in Newark....

"All applicants need to apply to either the full time accelerated BSN program or to the part time BSN program. They cannot apply to both at once and they also need to select one campus (Newark or Stratford)."

Hope this helps,

Mae
