UMD CNL FALL 2018

Hi guys! I know it's a little early... but just wanted to start a thread for those who are applying to the UMD CNL program for fall of 2018. I just submitted my application!

Hello All,

Good luck to everyone. I applied by the January 15th deadline. I recently received an email to set up my account and pin with UMD Baltimore. My status still says ready for review. Hopefully it will changed to Committee Ready soon. Does anyone know when to expect decisions to be made.

I got that email (about setting up the account, etc.) too. I noticed the email cautioned that this is not an offer of acceptance, lol. According to the admissions website, the committee began to review (or was supposed to) applications on January 15 and it says that decisions etc. are made on a rolling basis. I applied within days of the Nov. 1 date that applications opened, so I hope that means I will hear something in the next month or so. The priority deadline is March something, so I guess that means people are still submitting applications. Good luck, everyone!

Hi everyone, I just submitted my application for fall 2018. Has anyone heard back yet or been called in for an interview?

I applied in early November, and my application has been "ready for committee" for a few weeks. Yesterday, I emailed my admissions counselor, who has been extremely nice about answering my gazillion questions. I asked her when those of us who applied in November would be hearing something. She said that those who are selected to come for an interview will likely hear something in "2 to 3 weeks," and that candidates who are interviewed will be contacted with a decision about 3 weeks post-interview. Hope that helps.

I applied early November as well! My application has said "Committee Ready" for a few weeks now. I'm hoping to hear something soon!

Thanks for the information. They just respond to my email and she mentioned decisions will not be released until after the March Prioroty deadline which I thought was interesting as its on a rolling admissions basis.

I know... I definitely thought it would be moving along a little quicker than this! I'm hoping these next two weeks fly by. Has anyone applied to other programs/heard back?

Yes, I applied to Georgetown. So only two schools.. This process was a bit more difficult to navigate as I do not have a guidance counselor to advise which schools are reach safe etc. It is kind of like going in with this blind but with a good portfolio

Right! I applied to Hopkins also - but just these 2...I looked at Georgetown but never actually followed through with applying. UMSON is my top choice though!

Me, too! So excited. And now they are having people complete the writing sample at home and send it in, instead of having you do it on the spot, which many people found stressful. Good luck to all who are interviewing!
