Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!
Ah! How frustrating! Do you have to pay to have your transcripts sent?
I had my transcript sent from U of Delaware before I started my online application and when I called to check to see if they had received them they said they hadn't. So I ordered it again... A week later, both of my transcripts from UD showed up on the check-list, one dated as received on Aug. 10, one dated Aug. 28 (ish). They cost $10 each. Blah...
Hello all! Sorry to hijack your post, but I "think" this may be where I want to ask questions :) First of all, is UMB the same as UMSON? Next, and please don't think I am stupid, but...what type of resume do they want? I am applying in the next go round, and I am clueless! Lastly, the statement of goals. I have a REALLY hard time writing about me, but that's what they want, right?
Any help from you all would be great!

SB113- Yes, UMB (University of Maryland- Baltimore) is the same as UMSON (University of Maryland School of Nursing). The only difference is that UMSON also has a campus at Shady Grove; so that wouldn't be UMBaltimore.
The resume took me the longest. I was fortunate enough to have a good friend, whom I actually worked with, apply for Nursing School a year before me, so I picked her brain for the resume. I am coming from being a musician for 8 years in the Army and she was a great help in how to word things and make it relevant. What she couldn't help with was the past 3 years I've been a stay-at-home mom. So I used a combination-type resume; it explained what I've been doing the past few years, employment history, military experience, education.... you get the point! There was nothing on there specific to nursing, but it let them know my background and history.
The statement of goals should be all about you! They want to know who you are, why you want to be a nurse, what makes you tick, what you can bring to the field, where your passions lie. You could think of it as telling them the story of YOU- but make it relevant to nursing, of course.
Hope some of that helps and good luck to you!
Has anyone gotten any letter of acceptance yet? I was told by someone at UMDSON that the committee was meeting sometime last week to review applications.
I highly doubt that any letters will go out before October. From reviewing previous Spring classes, letters of acceptance tend to go out at the end of October to early November. But, I could be wrong.

I also received some emails before Sept. 1st saying they were missing some materials, but I did not receive an email saying everything was complete. I was a little worried about that, but I guess as long as it says "complete ready for review" online, then everything should be ok.
