UMB Spring 2012

Published

Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!

So, I'm a RN-BSN candidate and my status is still sitting at "Committee ready." I did give them a call on Monday and the very friendly person answering the phone said that decisions haven't been made for RN-BSN candidates yet, but I was silly and forgot to ask when they were expecting to send those out.

Anyone else here a RN-BSN hopeful waiting to hear? Anyone heard?

Looking forward to (hopefully!) seeing some of you in January :)

Hargrove86- I sent in my request to register but can't register online yet. I called to see if they got my form and she said my hold had been lifted so I know that's not the problem. Perhaps u are just lucky? Has anyone else been able to register? I'm anxious to lock in my classes!

Is anyone looking for a roommate? I just found out that I got into the CNL program at UMB! I am from Colorado and don't know anyone in Baltimore. I am interested in living in either Camden Court or the Zenith. The Zenith is more expensive but they have one cheaper option if you have a roommate, I think for around 800/person as well. Let me know!

u know other than my status changing in the computer to "admit-institution" i haven't got a call or a letter...hmmmm

Are you traditional BSN, RN to BSN, or another degree? A friend of mine applied for RN to BSN and she called the office last week. They told her they won't be calling anyone for the RN to BSN acceptance.

How long ago did your status change? If you're traditional BSN, you might want to call the office. The first round of letters were mailed out Nov. 4 and it said you had 14 calendar days to respond or else you'd lose your seat. In case yours happened to get lost in the mail, you might want to call the admissions office and check up on the status of it because the 18th is Friday.

Nevermind, I just went back through the thread and saw that you're an MSN student. If I were you, I'd call the admissions office and ask about your acceptance letter. It's been 6 days, you should be getting it soon, I guess. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I too am waiting to hear about decisions for RN to BSN. I called Monday and was told decisions would be released by November 23rd. I mentioned that registration was on November 21st and was told there would be plenty of time to register.

AprilAnney- I'm currently finishing up Micro, Nutrition, and Developmental Psych; all on campus. Just finished my Micro lab yesterday. Woo hoo! 5 more tests, total, and my semester is over! Can hardly wait. Then it'll be time to tackle all of the reading that needs to be done before classes start in January. No rest for the weary, I suppose.

I know, right? We'll sleep when we're dead, huh? I still have 4 tests, 2 written assignments, some quizzes, and a few random discussion postings left. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Almost there! (oh, wait, then we have 4 more semesters of craziness!). I'm looking forward to having a summer break, though. I've been taking classes non-stop for the last 15 months trying to get all of this done in time. A short break would be nice (and I'll get a little bit of a break between December & January- yay!)

Has anyone else been able to set up the SURFS account yet? I haven't received an email about anything yet, and every time I try to set up a SURFS account, it tells me that there is no one in their system with the information I enter.

I want to get everything squared away so I can register for classes!

I hadn't received my confirmation letter and I kept calling and calling and they just wouldn't get it done. So finally I stormed the admissions office at 8am yesterday morning to get my acceptance letter so I could deposit the check + return the acceptance letter and register on time. That afternoon I was able to set up my account. I didn't receive an e-mail telling me to do it either.

So I think that after they receive your acceptance letter and deposit they will let you set up the account. Call admissions to verify.

Thanks for the heads up! I called earlier today to confirm they received all of my paperwork and my deposit. They told me that I should be able to set everything up on Monday. But that means I won't be able to register for class until Tuesday at the earliest, but most likely not until Wednesday.
