Can anyone give me any information for the Accelerated BSN program at UMass Dartmouth? I am applying for the 2021 Fall class. Thanks!

I’m worried though because I want to get in so bad and I know the program starts in Aug and my husband and I are due with our first child in late September. Hoping the best for everyone! Also my TEAS score was terrible (65) but my GPA and prerequisites were really good!
As a fellow mother, I wish you the best. I have two daughters, but they are older (7 & 9). I have gone to school at various stages throughout their lives. The key to my success was always have support from people who wanted me to succeed. You will miss many milestones, but it's a sacrifice that we sometimes choose to make. I worked until my oldest was a year old, so I missed milestones that way, too! When my second was born, I returned to school when she was a year old and I still missed so much during the second year of her life and the third year of my first daughter's life. I feel like either way, you're going to miss something. As long as you have support, you should be okay. If you want it that bad, though, do it!

To my understanding they look at apps as a whole. I hope you get in! My TEAS was a 93, my over degree GPA was a 3.5 and my pre req GPA was around a 3.8/3.9 if that helps anyone. I believe it’s a hybrid program so most classes can be done at home so hopefully that helps you not miss as much after your child is born! They all seemed really nice and understanding so I’m sure they’d let you make up any labs/clinicals you’d miss. Due to getting in to direct entry NP programs I’ll probably not accept their admissions to Dartmouth so I hope that opens a seat for one of you! I was told that they do not have any scholarships for this program though so mostly everything is out of pocket/financial aid based for cost.

Thanks! Best of luck at whichever program you choose!

I really wish that I were closer so that I could do one of those programs, since my ultimate goal is also NP. Spending three hours in the car each day does not sound appealing to me, though!
Yeah I’m not excited for all the driving but I’m a little closer than you in Fall River so hopefully it’ll be manageable. I looked in RI since it’s closer to me but didn’t find any for direct entry NP. Hopefully having your RN first will give you more options in looking for a closer school. I was hoping to get more aid and do this program then look for closer options since my undergrad was only 3 years I didn’t think I hit the cap on what they give out but apparently I was wrong. If Dartmouth was a cheaper option I would go since it’s so close.

Yay! Congrats! I haven't finished Chemistry yet, so they won't even review my application. If UF accepts me, then I'll probably go there. UF accepted my application while I was finishing developmental psych. UMass has been a pain for me to deal with. They're already giving me a bad impression. Where is Quinnipiac?

Thanks! Quinnipiac is in CT near new haven. Good luck with finishing chem and hopefully you get accepted too!

Thanks! I submitted my application in December but it was fully complete with transcripts and my TEAS results around early February. Hopefully you hear back soon!
