Application due date is February 1. Anyone else working on this?
I just attended the info session on Tuesday the 11th (right before the big snow storm!), which was somewhat helpful, though the speaker seemed to be trying to discourage some people from applying. I think she just wanted to emphasize that they don't even look at applications if you haven't got all your prereqs completed, and that you'll be so busy you can't even think about having a job at the same time... She put a big emphasis on seeking 'diversity' in their student cohort, and I think it made a bunch of people wonder just what she meant by that.
One thing I've been wondering about is including a resume or CV with the application. They don't list one as needed or even optional, so I was wondering if including one could in any way hurt or help my application.
I hope someone else out there is going through the same thing and would be willing to post about their experiences.

I applied as well. Has anyone heard anything yet?

I didn't apply there, but at another school's info session they said part of the application is how well you can follow directions. If you include things they don't want, it won't help you.
On the other hand, someone who got in there included an extra recommendation, so it's probably just how they view your application overall.
Oh, whoops. I ended up including my CV... Oh well, too late to change that now.
I re-looked at the info session packet and it said they'd inform people of interviews in the last week of February. I haven't heard anything yet, but am waiting patiently.
still waiting! anyone else?
I haven't heard anything either...

I got an interview! :)!! yay!
congrats! how'd you find out phone, email..?
I got a phone call this morning
I got an interview too!
I was just beginning to despair, because I looked up last year's thread about the program, and that cohort was called for interviews around Feb 23rd, so I thought they didn't want me. I called UMass today just to confirm as much, and they said they just finalized their decision and are calling people between now and Wednesday to invite them to interviews. Letters will be sent out to everyone shortly. Then the very same person I talked to called me back an hour later to invite me to an interview!

hi Everyone,
Just got a call today too for an interview
Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask? is there anything else besides questions you have to do???
(I'm a little nervous for the interview)
Somebody from a previous year said his interview was very relaxed and informal (not that you shouldn't dress nicely and behave formally until they act otherwise!). They didn't ask him to do anything; they just talked about why he was interested in nursing and stuff.
I think you should be prepared to discuss your background, interest in nursing, and future plans as a nurse. And come with questions about their program, if you have any.
Congrats on getting an interview!
