UMASS Boston Accelerated BSN Summer 2016

Hi!

Is anyone else applying to this program? I've just completed my application (very early) and was wondering who else is hoping to attend next summer. The acceptance rate is very low, but I'm hopeful!

hang in there mrp1004! I can't stand it either! I caved and called yesterday, pleading for any information. I asked if all the acceptance letters had been sent out already (implying that only rejection letters were yet to be sent) and she said no, that all letters were still in the process of being sent out. i know how hard it is not to jump to the worst conclusion (i know i have over the last two weeks), but we still have a fighting chance :) my status did change this morning to that "formal notice within 14 days" - i know this bc i obsessively check ;)

my stats are decent with and undergrad GPA of 3.5, prereqs being around 3.7/3.8 (only got a B- in stats) and okay TEAS score (not the best standardized test taker, but i did meet their proficient requirement).

CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED. that's amazing and i only hope i get to join you. to my fellow peeps who haven't received their letters like me - keep your spirits up, it isn't over yet!!

Thanks for the info (and encouragement!), Renee3434! I caved earlier as well and sent an email. I also obsessively check the application status but no change yet! I'll update on here if I receive any conflicting information from them

Did you apply to any other programs? I've been accepted at Northeastern, but UMass is my top choice. I've also applied to MGH, but I don't expect to hear back from them until mid-January.

sounds like we're in the same boat mrp1004! i only applied to umass (my top choice) and MGH. now of course i'm kicking myself for that, thinking I should've applied to more. I have plans to apply to out of state absns for fall admission if these two don't plan out, butttttt let's hope they do haha. yes, please do let us know what they say on your end. any information helps ease the nerves :)

ps. for those of you who have been accepted - would you mind giving us an idea of your stats?? it would be very much appreciated so that we can properly gauge our own chances of acceptance, though of course understand if you feel uncomfortable doing so. either way, congrats on being apart of only a 10% acceptance rate ->> that's super awesome, obvi :p

Hey @Renee3434 and @mrp1004, hang in there! I understand how frustrated and anxious you are feeling right now. I, too, was going crazy for a whole week before I received my letter in the mail. Kind of makes me wonder why admissions doesn't notify applicants of their decision via the online login system since I know other schools do.

These are my stats:

-I graduated with a 3.51 cumulative undergrad GPA and a B.S. in Human Development from a public university in CA

-pre-req GPA ~3.6. I've also earned A's for pathophysio and pharmacology (both were online classes) already. Dunno if this made a difference or not.

-TEAS adjusted individual total score: 93.3

-no paid healthcare experience, but a good amount of volunteer experience: I volunteered for 6 months as a Child Life volunteer while I was in college. Currently I have been volunteering as a Reading Buddy and as a Newborn Hearing & Screening volunteer for a year at a well-known children's hospital.

Good luck to those still waiting! I agree with DaniNurseCat about notifying us online. It would just make so much more sense. If they want to send us a formal hard copy letter after notifying us online, then great. The application process is stressful enough as it is, and school is going to be an absolute beast. Don't make the waiting game agonizing too. I know it's easier said than done, but try to keep your mind off the mailbox until it comes. Worrying won't help you at this point, it'll just drive you crazy. Stay positive! :up:

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted!!! What an accomplishment!! I applied but still have not heard back yet and my status still says application is complete. For those who have been accepted is everyones deposit due on the 22nd or does it vary depending on when you received your acceptance letter.

okay this is becoming unbearable lol. my status changed a week ago today and still nothing. maybe umass is conducting a social experiment to see if they can slowly drive their hopeful applicants crazy? or maybe i'm just a little bit of a drama queen.. either way, i'm prescribing myself a daily dose of zen meditation! deep breaths, everyone :dead:

Hi guys! Congrats to those accepted, so exciting! I'm in the same boat as you guys who's status hasn't changed yet! It's killing me!! Looking forward to more updates, and to finally hearing back...eventually!
