  1. hey everyone just an update, I got a call from admissions and was offered a spot in the program awhile back, i'd say it was late Feburary (previously I was on the waitlist). So if you're on the waitlist, don't give up hope I won't be accepting my spot, so that's an extra one up for grabs right there! Good luck to all!
  2. hey all i received my waitlist letter a couple of days ago. mrp1004 i hope you've heard by now
  3. ellisboys4 oooh could you tell us what your friends overall opinion of the program is? I've only heard good things, but i'm always hungry for more feedback haha
  4. hey mrp1004 I saw that you got accepted to MGH woooo congrats! I still haven't heard anything from umass, which is more than disheartening. even if by some miracle i do get accepted or waitlisted, i'm truly feeling turned off by the way they have handled the whole application experience. not only are they not utilizing appropriate technology to make a stressful process much less painful, but it doesn't seem they give the equal courtesy or respect to each their applicants. Even if they are sending out rejection letters, I feel that process should be just as prompt as sending acceptance letters. we all have big decisions ahead of us and their silence is a serious lack of consideration. Umass was my first choice for a year before this but after seeing the way they have treated us as students/applicants, especially in contrast to how mgh treats theirs, I'm sorry to say I've changed my mind.. ps. I still believe it is an great program and for those that were accepted, it's such a huge accomplishment. i'm just disappointed in the admission team and their applicant process.
  5. hey everyone i was accepted last night as well! this huge weight has finally been lifted off my shoulders and i can't wait to start the program:) congrats to all for their acceptances. it looks like i was lucky enough to receive a scholarship too, though i'm not sure how much it will be. i pasted the exact paragraph from my letter below, for those that were asking about it. "In addition to this admission offer, you have been awarded an MGH Institute Scholarship, which can be used towards the cost of your tuition. This scholarship is in recognition of your exceptional academic achievement, background and experiences. Additional information regarding your scholarship offer will be sent to you by email from the Office of Financial Aid within the next 3-5 business days." so excited and grateful - can't wait to meet everyone
  6. okay this is becoming unbearable lol. my status changed a week ago today and still nothing. maybe umass is conducting a social experiment to see if they can slowly drive their hopeful applicants crazy? or maybe i'm just a little bit of a drama queen.. either way, i'm prescribing myself a daily dose of zen meditation! deep breaths, everyone
  7. thank you DaniNurseCat - that really helps. I can totally see why you were accepted
  8. ps. for those of you who have been accepted - would you mind giving us an idea of your stats?? it would be very much appreciated so that we can properly gauge our own chances of acceptance, though of course understand if you feel uncomfortable doing so. either way, congrats on being apart of only a 10% acceptance rate ->> that's super awesome, obvi
  9. sounds like we're in the same boat mrp1004! i only applied to umass (my top choice) and MGH. now of course i'm kicking myself for that, thinking I should've applied to more. I have plans to apply to out of state absns for fall admission if these two don't plan out, butttttt let's hope they do haha. yes, please do let us know what they say on your end. any information helps ease the nerves :)
  10. hang in there mrp1004! I can't stand it either! I caved and called yesterday, pleading for any information. I asked if all the acceptance letters had been sent out already (implying that only rejection letters were yet to be sent) and she said no, that all letters were still in the process of being sent out. i know how hard it is not to jump to the worst conclusion (i know i have over the last two weeks), but we still have a fighting chance :) my status did change this morning to that "formal notice within 14 days" - i know this bc i obsessively check my stats are decent with and undergrad GPA of 3.5, prereqs being around 3.7/3.8 (only got a B- in stats) and okay TEAS score (not the best standardized test taker, but i did meet their proficient requirement). CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED. that's amazing and i only hope i get to join you. to my fellow peeps who haven't received their letters like me - keep your spirits up, it isn't over yet!!
  11. Hey everyone :) My status changed to "the application is complete" and a bunch of new tabs have been added like financial aid and transfer credit. I've been talking with admissions and she said there are multiple admissions committee meetings, the first being this week. She didn't say when the next meeting is, but I would hope it's next week or even later this week! I noticed that v.lam827 applied before the application date. Maybe they go through applicants sequentially by who has applied first? Just a guess, but this waiting game is killing me too!
