UMass Boston - ABSN Spring 2021

Published

I did not see a thread for this cohort, so everyone interested in this absn program please comment!

I want to apply for the Spring 2021 cycle. Does anyone know what the total tuition including housing, books etc would look like? Can anyone who did attend this program share what their total costs came down to? Would be super beneficial!

@bek72 Hello! My name is Wen and I'm in the Spring cohort as well. I just requested to join the FB group. I look forward to meeting you guys!

Hi! I was accepted for the Summer 2021 cohort and am wondering about the clinical schedule... Do they give you a schedule in advance of which days you will need to be on campus or at your clinical sites? Thanks!

Hi, I just got accepted to the program and would like to know how the program is going for those who are currently attending. I'm a little worried that it's online. Are you guys still learning a lot? How are your clinical placements? What are the pros/cons of the program?

Thank you!!

Hi! I was also recently accepted to this program and am curious to know how everything is going. How are the clinicals? The classes? Do you feel like you a learning a good amount? If anyone could give some feedback on how the program is that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It has been a cluster because of Covid some students got their clinical schedule right away while some are still waiting for their dates. This is because some hospitals in the Boston area have reduced the number of students they can accept due to covid. We have online clinical a as well with our clinical instructor. The sim lab at UMB is fun. I would say that the program is definitely self taught and you just need to be on top of your assignments and studying. You have to be very organized and seek out learning material - Communication is also key. I feel like I’m learning and the program keys in on getting you ready for the NCLEX.  Look up Prep U and HESI case study type questions on the internet - I love the fact that it is online and you just have to self motivate yourself. SOME professors try their best and  understand that this online concept can be weird. Your cohort is what will keep you sane. Make friends and study groups. Keep in touch using Slack. If you need to chat let me know. I will say that it is very doable and it’s not as intimidating as you may think. I’m actually excited about the program and if you chose to accept you will be done in 11 months. Where else can you get that for the price .
