UMass Amherst 2020 ABSN

Hello,

I am starting this forum for the UMass Amherst 2020 Spring start. Has anyone else finished their application yet?

I have a 3.06 cumulative GPA and a 3.21 GPA from the school I graduated with my bachelors from.

We are supposed to recieve admissions decisions in March 2020 but I hope they dont make us wait that long.

@33b_r_i_a_n_n_a33 the ppl you know in the 2019 cohort did they mention anything really interesting about the program? Anything super helpful? That’s awesome I wish I knew just one person in the program it woulda offered me so much insight!

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question I just can't find any information about it online. Anyone know the locations some of our clinical placements may be? I know that we'll be at Bay State, but anyone have further info??

Thanks! This waiting game is crazy stressful, so I'm trying to fill my time learning about the area and the hospitals!

@hannahnicole not a dumb question at all; locally there’s baystate that’s the biggest hospital in the area it’s also a trauma 1, there’s also mercy Medical Center, and there Cooley Dickinson that’s in Northampton about 20 min away from spfld, and there are other smaller facilities, I’m thinking baystate will be the most popular clinical site because they offer literally every specialty and is the largest hospital in the region. But who knows, I’m curious too about clinicals. I wish they gave ppl interested in the program more info.

I applied to umass, northeastern and MCPHS’ DNP program. I have been accepted to northeastern so far However umass is my absolute top school!

Congrats! You know what they say; go where u get in! But yes Umass is my number 1 too, I only applied to one other school, Elms, their program is 20 months and 10 min away from Umass Center where their program is held
