Hello everyone! I noticed that there are currently no posts regarding the UMass Amherst ABSN program for the 2019 cycle so I figured I would start one. I am in the middle of completing my application and would like to connect with other applicants, as well as previously accepted students that might me able to give some advice about the program. I am currently worried about my lack of experience because I have only held volunteer positions, but the admission criteria doesn't mention experience as a requirement. Thanks!
Hey guys I graduated from umass in 3.5 years with a bachelors of science in kinesiology with about a 3.2 gpa. My prerequisite were a mix of a’s and b’s. I was very shocked to find out yesterday I got into the program and was wondering if anyone been think about or anyone could tell me how you guys plan on paying for the program as the price did go up quite a bit
Congrats to all accepted! I was waitlisted, which surprised me in a good way! I had convinced myself I wasn’t getting in, so now here I sit in another month of limbo. My email stated they hope to have the waitlist ironed out prior to April 1st.
My Bachelor’s degree is 15 years old, but my prereqs were recent with good grades. No clinical experience either. Just a big life change for me (I’m 37 with two young children).
Hi there,
I was recently accepted into the program as well. Does anyone know someone that has completed the program in the past few years. I am wondering if anyone works part-time while in the program. I have seen other hybrid programs where a few classes are online. It seems like these will all be held on springfield campus. I live in Worcester and read posts from years ago that people have their residencies in location all over Western Mass and some in central. I also applied to UMASS Boston and am on the waitlist. Their program is 15 months and a hybrid of online and in person. I do like the fact that they start in early summer and finish in early fall 2020. I think commuting to Springfield from Worcester would be easier than to Boston. I will put my deposit down for Amherst and considering that Boston has half the seats, I am not holding my breath that I will make it off of waitlist. Looking forward to meeting others at the meet and greet at the end of March.
Thanks!
Kim

Whoo! Congrats.
I also got an e-mail today letting me know that I have been accepted into the program! I was also completely shocked that I got a response this early, but I am thrilled! Hope everybody hears back soon.
