UMass Amherst ABSN 2011

Hey - is anyone else out there applying for UMass Amherst's ABSN for Fall 2011? Apps are due next week - just wanted to connect with others applying and get a thread started! :yeah:

Yea, me either. I've applied to some ADN programs too, but it was hard since I'm still finishing my pre-reqs now. If I don't get in anywhere I'll just spend next year applying to more schools and hopefully have more options for Fall 2012...we'll see :)

Do you know what other schools around are still accepting applications for the fall? I thought I was okay with the few schools I applied to around MA, but now I feel like I should have applied to more just in case.

]I know that MCPHS in Worcester is still accepting applications for Fall 2011. Actually they always have a deadline of June 1st for their fall semester and October 1st for their spring semester every year, which makes it pretty convenient. :nurse: I read on another thread that they admit between 50-55 students, which is a lot more than some of the other ABSN programs I've looked into. They also accept applications if you are still taking pre-reqs. I got an email from the lady at UMass Amherst saying two of my transcripts didn't get there and then I realized something - they probably had them filed under my maiden name. I thought it was weird that 2 of mine wouldn't get there for some reason. Lo and behold, they were there under my maiden name. My point is that if any of you guys got married after your undergrad, make sure that UMass knows your maiden name so they can properly keep all of your application materials together!

Hi!! I also received my acceptance letter yesterday!! Very excited :) However, does anyone know if they send out any financial aid information? Or do we have to wait until orientation?

monikki-I think we'll find out at orientation. Are you relocating for the program or do you live near amherst? I'm about an hour and a half away need to figure out if i can justify commuting or if i should seek alternative living situation.
