Hi. I'm writing this post super early, as we ideally want to move to start a life in the US in about 6 years. However, just from browsing the forum it seems that it's quite s long complicated process so actually there may be no harm in preparing early.
I have no idea where to even begin so that would be helpful? I'm an adult trained registered nurse in the British Army. And by the time we want to move I will have deployed also.
We we will have children and would be looking to move them out too, obviously.
Can anyone advise on the process or recommend any good agencies who helped them move?
Many thanks in advance. X

US nurses are generalist trained so you will need theory and clinical hours in adult, peds, OB /gyn and mental health nursing to be licensed in the US.
We did them on my university course. But if I need more how would I go about doing that?

Starting point would be checking out the requirements for International Educated Nurse (IEN) for the state. All states require clinical and theory hours on your transcripts in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. Once you have met requirements and passed NCLEX you then look for a employer willing to sponsor you for a work or immigrant visa. That is where the difficulty comes in. Nurses are not in demand so many employers do not want to spend the $$$ in bringing IEN when nurses are readily available
