I saw it and it made me ashamed to be a nurse.
I wanted to go onto that ward and sort it out. dont winge about lack of nurses.........ok thats a problem but that is just total lack of care, that poor woman's mouth! dont nurses know how to give basic nursing care anymore??? as students we were allocated 6 patients each to care for.. we managed it and no we didnt have care plans (I'm so old we didnt do those) we did back rounds... very old fashioned but the patients got the care.
please tell me its not like that every where?

i watched it and i too was ashamed to be a nurse. im a paeds nurse and i was horrified to see that that happens to our eldely population, those poor patients i felt for them. It is a lack of basic nursing care. I asked myself why isnt the management doing something about it considering they knew it was happening. i say if a nurse can not follow the policies and procedures and carry out basic nursing care then im sorry but should they be in the nursing profession at all? What would they do if it was a relative of theirs on that ward?....interesting to see what their opinion would be on the care given.
