Hello fellow nurses. I am currently 4 years out of nursing school and working in Australia in Paediatrics as a RN. I did my BSc in Adult nursing in London. I am wondering if there are any UK nurses who got licensed in NY. I have just applied for the CGFNS last night. I understand I may need to do maternity ect. Second question anyone know of any schools in NY or the USA that offers this?
Thanks
Charlie :)

Hi Leoni, yes I graduated in 2018 in the UK. My university was very good with sending through all my training modules that CGFNS require. Process from applying to completing NCLEX took 9 months. So a bit slow but worth it. Just looking for next steps for moving there now.
Okay, that's good to know I will contact them. I would prefer direct hire, been advised that there is more flexibility. Is Illinois your first choice in terms of BON?
Assuming you're an adult nurse, did you manage to complete gain hours in any of the following: paeds, gynae, obstetrics mental health and community/GP placement?
I wasn't fortunate enough to gain hours in any of these areas. Although I did have a community placement within the district nursing team.

Hello Sally,
Congratulations! Did you apply through CGFNS or direct to New York State? I sent you a direct message.
