UK Nurse Registration

Published

Hi to all UK RN aspirant, as a one myself, I would like to invite my fellow filipinos who reside in Manila to maybe be my study buddy for the OSCE (Test of Competence part 2) Exam in the UK. This exam is scenario based and maybe we can benefit in doing a lot of practice and sharing of ideas. I do have a couple of resources such as OSCE books and online resources that I can gladly lend. If you are interested please do reach out to me at [email protected]

Is there anybody who has completed test of competence exam., to share their experience?

Hi Earrings, I would like to ask if you have done the Part 1 (CBT) TEST already? And if so, what materials did you use? Thank you.

I am also going to take the CBT competence exam but I am clueless on what resources to review. I hope anyone can share tips and the likes. :)

I am curious about this exam as well. I know you can't release any details, but was the exam easier than you expected or was it difficult in your opinion? What were some resources you used to study for it? Obviously you passed if you're getting ready for part two, so what resources are you using to study for that? Any response would be very helpful! Thanks!

One more question: Was there a lot of pharmacology in the CBT portion? I'm just trying to see what I should prepare for. Drugs in the UK seem to have different names than in the US. Thanks!

Hi earrings,

Does this mean you have already taken CBT (Part 1)? If so, can you share what materials/references you used to prepare for it and if it isn't too much to ask, can you share them to us who are planning to take the test next month? Thanks!

Hi everyone sorry for a delayed response. If you have already taken the NCLEX RN exam, then the CBT is an easier version of that. Yes there were pharma questions but wasn't a lot. One thing you have to practice is how to compute without a calculator.

Thank you earrings! What were your references? Did you review all the links indicated in the blueprint? :)

I was like halfway through it but never really did finished all of it. I find Saunders really helpful especially when I really need to brush on my hardcore nursing concepts, plus take a lot of sample exam when you get the chance. In addition, you may also want to try the practice exam in your Pearsonvue profiles because that sort of going to give you the feel of what the exam screen looks like. Good luck everyone!

Please do they indicate which questions are critical questions? Am aware we have to pass all critical questions. Thanks

From what I learned critical questions are not indicated..
