UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

May I just ask, how would I know If NMC have already scanned my documents? What exactly is reflected in the portal when documents are scanned already?

Thanks and Regards!

They won't notify you if you're document has already been scanned which would take them 10-15 working days. You have to check your portal every now and if your papers have been scanned, they will tag it with 'This document has been received'.

**your document

Thank you so much for the response. Glad to know that I am in the queue.

Good evening nurses.

I have a question about the NMC portal. When it says "document has been receieved", does that mean that they were already able to scan the documents sent to them? Will they be uploading the specific file in NMC portal (like when you click on the link, instead of a blank form, you'll see your filled up form)? They have all my documents indicated as received last march 1, so does that mean that on the same day, I already am in the queue for assessment?

I've been doing some back reading as well in this thread. I saw a lot of comments saying that they are only accepting nbi clearances that are within 3 months from its issue date. I applied for one last year, and its expiration is still on july this year. won't they honor that? is it advisable to get a new one now even though they don't have any feedback yet?

also, regarding the school documents to be sent, i wasn't able to send a TOR from my university and sent only what my college provided me - a separate sheet showing my rle hours, and another sheet showing all my subjects and lecture hours. Would that be enough? should i send them my TOR too, or wait for their feedback if they'll be asking it?

Thanks in advance for the answers. I'm really anxious about this process. It's been a long and tiring one, and I would just like to have my DL ASAP.

In most cases, once your documents stated recieved on your portal that means you entered the assessment queue already.

For your nbi, you need to call nmcto reopen your portal so you can upload a latest nbi clearance within the 3 months period upon issued.

For you school record, tor should be part of the documents to be sent to nmc aside from the barcoded forms filled out by your school, rle and theoretical background. Call nmc to get an advice on what to do if you really want to have your DL asap and to be able save time.

Goodluck

thanks. I'm just hope they'll send me an email soon so that i'll know what to do.

Don't wait for them to email you because that will take long. Call them immediately for your concerns to be responded especially that your inquiries need prompt action.

hi everyone, I just started complying the FULL APPLICATION and ASSESSMENT STAGE. and I have a lot of queries in mind so might as well have it all in bullets. my head is pounding with all these questions. I get anxious if I don't make all these right.

1. I resigned from Bahrain last November 7,2015 and stayed in the Philippines since then. I was able to secure a good conduct certificate from Bahrain but the date of issue was last 2014. the inclusive dates stated in the cert (dates that I've stayed in Bh) was April 2013-end of 2014. yet the expiry date of the cert is May 2017. since I've been staying in the philippines since 2015, would I still need a new one or is this still valid knowing it will not expire till May 2017?

2. is it necessary to attached original documents to the uploaded forms? is certified true copy/authenticated ok, documents such as COE?

3. for the REFERENCE EMPLOYER FORM, at the last page, it is asked to place the company's seal/stamp and "in the event that the employer does not have a stamp, make a letter with the letterhead explaining or stating this" BUT what if the hospital would NOT GIVE, do I indicate/state it in that manner in the letter (with letterhead of the hospital)? what to do then?

4. is it ok to send first the documents before clicking submit?

5. should the documents that need to be UPLOAD be authenticated?

these are the questions I could think of clearly. I'm overwhelmed of the possible mishaps knowing that not much infos are given from the NMC.

thank ang you so much for who ever could enlighten me. :(

Goodluck to all

Hello All!

Thank you for this thread. I would like to ask if anyone here is applying for NMC from Dubai? I passed my IELTS and CBT exam and about to upload my documents but I have the ff problems and concerns.

1) NBI/POLICE CLEARANCE: I am aware that I should secure POLICE clearance from Dubai Police, but are we also going to secure NBI clearance from our home country? Mine is in the Philippines.

2) My date of joining is earlier than my license issuance. I got my Certificate of Good Standing this morning and I notice that it's 2 weeks later than my date of joining. I joined June 15 but my license validity started as July 1. Am I going to have a problem with NMC application because I started without a license? But that two weeks are for training purposes only and I haven't handled any patient at that time. I was wondering if any of you have the same problem or encountered this before?

I hope to hear from you all. Thank you very much!

I am on my 47th day waiting for my DL. To keep myself from obsessively checking my email for any update from nmc i would like to prepare myself for the OSCE. Anybody here who can recommend for review materials or give feedback what to expect on exam day?tnx
