Hi,I wrote ielts and achieved a score of 7.5 overall and in 3 modules but had 6.5 in reading which was rejected by NMC-UK.I am considering registering with An Bord,Ireland.I would like to know what the current job prospect is in Ireland now that the employment freeze has been lifted. Is it worth it registering with ABA(Nursing Board).I have just received the registration pack and thinking of registering but i need some directions on how to get a job and obtain a work permit. How long does the registration process take in Ireland .
Also,i would like to know what the standard of living is and the salary scale as compared to the UK.Can the healthcare standard be compared with the standard in the UK.
Thanks:cheers:

Thanks,i have contacted the nursing board in ireland and will begin my registration this month by God's grace.I just need information about the employment opportunities in Ireland.Hope i get more replies to this.
I would image the best thing is approach the hospitals HR and see what is on offer and whether they will assist if you need work permit
I am looking to move to Ireland in the next one year.Do they require a Bsn or not?
If you haven't started the process and have an employer I think you may be looking at longer than 12 months to go through the process ie go through the Irish Nursing Board, find an employer and sort out a work permit. It generally goes on training and hours on transcripts so really only way to know if you will be accepted is to submit application and see what they say. (EU training tends to be 3 years)
Hi I'm Liane Robles a registered nurse from the Philippines. I just got my IELTS score and I'm planning to apply as nurse in Ireland. My total band score is 7.5... I got 7.5-listening, 7.0- reading, 6.5- writing and 8.0- speaking... will I qualify as nursefor ABA? Are they just looking at a total band score of 7.0 even if I am .5 writing?

Hi,
Just like other suggestions in this site relating to IELTS or other requirements, you need to contact the Nursing Board of that particular jurisdiction to have your querries answered and get the proper information.
Good day
