I really don’t think that’s the correct course. we need the one for health care professionals. unless you already spoke to eunice or a faculty member in the school of nursing and they confirmed it was correct. because if that’s the case then ignore me lol. it would suck for any of you to take that course only to realize it’s the wrong one and pay more money for the right one ?

I think they're two different classes. I already took BLS, and it didn't cover a whole lot of First Aid in it..I just called Eunice, but no answer, so I'll try to reach out again. I already paid for the class though, so I'll still go LOL

BLS and CPR can be used interchangeably ( AHA calls it BLS and ARC calls it BLS/CPR for the one we need). it’s just the health care part that matters. but if you took the health professional one already, then the one you signed up for should suffice your first aid cert

So I accidentally applied for the adult only cpr/ first aid and just completed bls. Can't get Eunice on the phone and the class starts soon, so I hope it is sufficient.

Here's what's on the UIW page. It seems like two different courses to me??‍♀️

well yeah they are two different courses; one is offered through AHA and the other through ARC. but they’re equivalent in the type of certification we need. it has to be the CPR for health care regardless of the company we choose. and then your first aid cert is a simple first aid anyone can take regardless of profession. I hope I’m making sense lol

and am I the only one watching youtube nursing school shopping hauls?? BECAUSE I WANT TO BE READY YESTERDAY ???

I think we're both being misunderstood lol, I'll clarify from my end too, I completed BLS, just need First Aid ? I haven't had a day off in about a month, so my apologies! And yes! I've been watching school hauls way too much!

so you took the health care professional cpr course and signed up for adult cpr/first aid? if that’s the case, you will have completed certification ? and some lol

There is one with pediatrics though and I wanted to be sure. And the only first aid courses I could find included CPR. It doesn't specify on UIW website though.

@DBRO31 girrrrl tell me about it! I’m working nonstop until school starts too. it’s so draining ? and no need to apologize! I just wasn’t sure if I was making sense lol I’ve been up way too long!

@aric91 I’m ready for that red scrub top! eeeeeepp ???

Yep! lol, it was the only class that worked with my schedule! But for $75.00, I don't mind getting a little extra hands on!

@aric91so neither AHA nor ARC specify pediatrics because the course is adult/child/peds. so if it’s specific, it’s the wrong one. the one for health care professionals is what you need. that’s strange that you couldn’t find a simple first aid course. who are you planning to get cert from?
