Hello future nurses! Has anyone here applied for UIC's entry-level master's program for fall 2020? I applied but have not heard anything about interviews yet. I know they're supposed to be in late Feb. Also, anyone who has been accepted to DePaul but waiting for UIC? The waiting is killing me!
Thanks, y'all!
Hey guys I just want to ask:
Why did you guys apply for the Direct entry master of nursing program instead of traditional / accelerated BSN? I know that we can both receive same RN license and if we work at the clinical settings we get the same salary as the BSN students. I heard that a lot of people have attitudes toward the Direct MSN program students / nurses. (I'm just curious!!)
I applied to direct entry masters programs instead of an ABSN because I went to an expensive school for undergrad. didn't have enough financial aid so I knew I couldn't pay for an ABSN. And besides my ultimate goal is to become a pmhnp so if I get my masters I can just get a certificate and start practicing.
That I dont know about. As long as I've been researching I've seen you need at least an MSN. People with ban's can do like an MSN-FNP. Which is like 3 years. Or people like us with a non nursing bachelors do MSN then a post master certificate. Or the DNP route.
If I had the funds I would've done an ABSN for sure. It's faster and if a DNP is a requirement like you say then there are so many BSN-NP routes!
