Hello there! Anyone applying to UHM Nursing Program for Spring '15 admission? Just wondering if you'd be interested in sharing your stats. I'll be submitting my application soon and am really curious if I have a chance...

Here's my stats:

pgpa:3.7

cgpa: 3.35

NLN:

composite score: 127

composite percentile: 89%

Waiting to hear back from some of my friends currently in the BSN program to see if they know what's up.. First I've ever heard of UH doing this..

I just got a letter saying they are not admitting for the Spring either, which is really upsetting but all it says it that they will still review my application and let me know of a decision in late November early December :(

Sorry late reply, but I got the letter too... Well, hopefully we get in for fall. But even if I do, I don't know what I'm going to do for another semester...

I know me too. At the end of this fall semester I will have all the pre req and core classes completed so its not like i can take those in the meantime. I dont know what to do.....

From what I've heard from some of the students is that the school's been having issues with bad NCLEX pass rates with the new curriculum and the changes to the NCLEX. As a result they're making major changes to the program as a whole.

One of the unfortunate challenges of the state wide consortium curriculum is that since the first 2 years of the BSN program mirrors the complete 2 years of the ADN programs, all the material required for the NCLEX is covered in those first 2 years. However, if you're in a BSN program, you still have a full additional year of school before you're eligible to sit for boards. That's a lot of time to forget stuff. As a result they've added on a NCLEX prep/refresher course to the last semester of the BSN program..

I'm not sure why they don't work with the BON to allow BSN students to test after the first 2 years of the program, the same way MEPN students sit for boards after the first year of their program.

I heard that UH is not taking Spring admission because the nursing department doesnt have $$$...how can that be?!?!

As written in 9/17 Pacific Business News, UH School of Nursing will not be

accepting Spring 2015 new students. Even if you've been accepted and made

your $200 intent deposit...you won't be allowed to register for classes..

Please complain if you can! Might help to rethink their stupid move.

Hey! I just got a letter in the mail saying that I was accepted into the Fall 2015 BSN program. I got the same letter in reference to the Spring 2015 "no enrollment" thing going on. So check your mail! You may have been accepted into the Fall program, which is better than nothing, in my opinion!

I just got a letter today too saying I got in for fall 2015! I'm glad they sent them out earlier than they had said they would.

Didn't take TEAS and got rejected

Now the online application costs $45 and asks for more than double the amount of information, references, achievements, certifications, etc.
