Hi everyone! Here's the new group chat for all prospective students interested in applying for the Fall 2023 UH Manoa GEPN program. Anyone wanting to chat about their questions, concerns, personal backgrounds, work/life experiences, or just anything really, are more than welcome to upload it in the chat box. Good luck to all applicants and aspiring nurses!

Hi everyone! I’ll be applying for this cohort as well. I’m super nervous especially since I’m from out of state

Hey guys!

Did you need to submit any transcripts for either of the UH Grad Division or the NursingCAS application? While filling out the application for both, it states "You do not need to enter any coursework for the programs you have selected." in the transcript entry box. I'm just a bit confused because on the GEPN website it states that all transcripts need to be submitted to apply. Perhaps it's because I've only attended UH institutions?

Also, when you were applying for the GEPN through NursingCAS, did you guys notice that there are two programs for the MSN? There is the "Online Advanced Population Health Nursing" and then there's the "GEPN-MSN-APHN." I almost didn't fill out the latter but I am wondering the reason for having both program applications listed?

Thanks ?

I have also attended only UH institutions and I did not send any transcripts in during the application process. I assume the program is also looking at the NursingCAS documents since we sent a copy of our transcripts to that system.

I did notice the other program on NursingCAS.

The wait is killing me!

Hi! This part confused me as well at first. Since you've attended UH, you do not need to upload your transcript to the Grad Division since the institution already has it filed; that's for those who did not attend UH. For NCAS, however, you need to upload an unofficial transcript.

The "Online Advanced Population Health Nursing" applies to those who already have an RN license and want an MSN degree. The "GEPN-MSN-APHN" are for those who have a non-bachelor's degree in nursing. Hope this helps!

Hi everyone! Today's November 1st, so applications are due today. I sent in my completed application already, and I am so nervous. I applied for the DNP-FNP track. Anyone here also applied for the same track?

I graduated from UH Manoa with a BA in Ethnic Studies. How about you?

Good luck to everyone who applied!

I also applied for the DNP-FNP track! I have my BA from UH Manoa, too, but my background is Bio and Public Health. Hope we can be classmates next year ? I wish they would send a notification after we submit saying they got everything at least.. I'm so nervous for the results!

That's awesome! Hope we can be classmates next year too! Ikr, I'm so nervous...

Wanted to share a little bit about my background. I graduated from UH Manoa in 2021 with a BA in Ethnic Studies, cumulative GPA 3.71 and prereq GPA 4.0. I completed a nurse aide training program in Feb of this year, and am currently working in school health services at a middle school - I've been in this position since March 2022. My background is in activism & community organizing, and I am a queer Native Hawaiian from O'ahu. I applied for the GEPN DNP-FNP track. Nice to meet you!

Hey everyone I also applied to the program I live on Oahu. As anyone heard anything ?!

Aloha,

Nice to meet you. I applied to the GEPN-MS track. I have no experience in nursing and graduated with a BA in public health- health administration.

Haven’t heard anything, yet. Super nervous…

Same , I have my BA public healthcare and I haven’t heard anything either

Hi everyone,

I'm a prospective 2024 Gepn applicant since the 2023 cycle is now closed. Just wondering what is in the essay part of the application this cycle. I am graduating Spring of next year with a degree in Public Health 3.8 GPA, and currently working on my prerequisites.
