Hi everyone! Here's the new group chat for all prospective students interested in applying for the Fall 2023 UH Manoa GEPN program. Anyone wanting to chat about their questions, concerns, personal backgrounds, work/life experiences, or just anything really, are more than welcome to upload it in the chat box. Good luck to all applicants and aspiring nurses!

Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone has work experience in nursing-related jobs (like as a nurse aide or phlebotomy) and whether trying to find a job as one would be a good idea before starting GEPN?

Hello everyone! The deadline is nearing and I am really nervous!

Yes, becoming a nurse aide is a good start before starting GEPN. Some people were CNAs before starting nursing school while others were something else (non-nursing/non-healthcare workers). At least that's what I heard. I know one who went straight to GEPN right after graduating from University and was not a CNA. It can vary.

Anyone sent in their applications? I kinda don't understand how and why GEPN is using regular admissions while the MSN and DNP are rolling admissions.

I sent my graduate application on August 10 and NCAS by on September 1.

It’s my first time applying so I don’t really know what to expect.

Nice! I don't blame you, I don't know what to expect either. Let me know if they reply early. I know they said they'll reply early January.

For the graduate application, did you submit a statement of objective, writing samples, and other documents? I know we don't need letter of rec, unofficial test scores and transcripts for this one. We don't need to do that, right? All I did was fill out my personal information and paid the fee, and that was it..

I did not do any of that except for filling out the graduate application and NCAS. I submitted both of my applications on 9/16 but have not heard back. I saw last year the class was full by December. Was it rolling last year? Has anyone heard back yet?

GEPN was rolling last year, but now it's not this year. The website says we'll hear them back by January.

No additional documents were needed for the graduate application. Just personal and financial information.

I thought it would be rolling for this year too LOL

January is too long. I wish it was rolling again.
