I know it is still early on, but are any of you applying to University of Hawaii's Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) for fall 2018?
What educational background is everyone coming from? Any health related experience?
For any previous students in this program, how is the first year of course work? Any advice for those planning on applying?
I'm considering applying for the Master of Science track in Advanced Population Health Nursing.
Thank you and good luck to everyone! :)
Aloha! I know I'm late the the game but I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring for the 2018 Cohort Adult track. I had a hard time deciding between that and the PhD. I ultimately chose the AGPCNP because I want to work bedside. Submitted today!
How soon has everyone been getting their decisions?
Congratulations to all that got it in!!!
I am still patiently waiting to hear back from them. I completed and submitted my application (Advance Population Health Nursing) the second week of October.
I called the GEPN coordinator yesterday, December 5th, and he told me that decisions were sent out last Friday, December 1st and that we should be getting our decision letter anytime soon.
Anyone here applied in October? Any news yet on your end?
Best of luck to all of us and Aloha!

Wait-- so decisions are being physically mailed and not emailed?
Just received my admission today for FNP - via e-mail - so excited! I had been holding my breath since October. Applied October 10.
Congratulations to those who are in!
If you are still waiting, hang in there.
Does anyone know of an Applied Nutrition and/or Human Development online class? Those are conditional prereqs I still need.
Mahalo!
Aloha everyone! Congratulations to everyone who got accepted so early. My name is Wes and I will be doing the FNP track for 2018 (conditionally if I get all these pre-reqs out the way). Currently I am slowly chopping away at all the required classes at UH Manoa as a Post-Bachelor Unclassified student. Once we have our cohort together, I would love to meet all of you before our program begins before our social lives end for the first year. Once again congrats to everyone who is in and good luck to those still waiting!
Cheers!

Mahalo!
I plan on taking human development and nutrition Summer of 2018 at UH and I believe it will be online. I will email the professors and find out if they would have an idea of when the class will begin and end. By looking at 2017 summer courses it looks like it was available online 5/22-6/30 and then a later date that would not make it on time for having all classes by August 1st. Hope that helps!

Hey @nurse0506nurse! I'm 28 year-old from Hawai'i. Not married, no children. I have a B.S. in Health Administration & Policy and have worked in multiple medical offices such as medical spas and plastic surgery offices. I am also a CNA and have been working at Kahala Nui, which is a senior living community in Hawai'i. I applied for the FNP track!
